The Indonesian government is making a big move to use the power of K-pop for tourism. With BTS scheduled to perform in Jakarta this December, the Ministry of Tourism is now working on a plan to collaborate with the global superstars. The goal is to use their massive World Tour to show off Indonesiaโs beauty to millions of fans around the world.
Officials are not just looking at the two concert nights as entertainment. They see it as a golden chance to introduce the countryโs culture and scenery to a huge international audience. The ministry has confirmed they are reaching out to the promoters to discuss how this collaboration can work.
Government Plans to Offer More Than Just Bali
The Acting Deputy for Event Organizer Development at the Ministry of Tourism, Vinsensius Jemadu, shared details about this exciting plan. He stated that the ministry is calling for a coordination meeting with the local promoter, iMe Indonesia, to figure out the best way to promote Indonesia during the BTS visit .
Vinsensius made it clear that the government wants to be a partner, not just someone trying to use the moment for quick gain. He emphasized that the goal is to promote Indonesian tourism and culture alongside BTS.
“How can we participate, not in taking advantage, but in collaborating to promote Indonesia through this BTS concert. At the very least, the tourism potential we have or the culture we have can also be promoted together with BTS,” Vinsensius explained .
One of the main ideas is to show the members of BTS places beyond the famous island of Bali. Many international visitors only know Bali, but Indonesia has so much more to offer. The ministry wants to organize a Familiarization Trip (Famtrip) for the group. This would involve taking RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook to visit other beautiful destinations. They also hope the members can try various local dishes from the archipelago .
If the schedule is too tight for a long trip outside Jakarta, the ministry still hopes to introduce the beauty of the capital city and its culture. Vinsensius mentioned the spirit of “Beyond Ordinary” to promote destinations other than Bali . This collaboration is a direct order from the Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, who has been paying close attention since Indonesia was included in the BTS tour list .
BTS Jakarta Concert Dates Confirmed for December
This collaboration idea comes after the official announcement of the BTS World Tour 2026-2027. The band’s agency, BigHit Music, released the full schedule earlier this year, and it confirmed that Jakarta is on the list .
BTS is scheduled to hold concerts in Jakarta for two days, on December 26 and 27, 2026 . This will be part of their Asia Pacific leg. Before coming to Jakarta, they will perform in Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. After Jakarta, the tour will continue to Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Manila .
The local promoter, iMe Indonesia, has confirmed they are handling the event. They have asked fans to save the date, but the exact venue and ticketing information have not been announced yet . This tour marks the group’s return to the global stage after all members completed their mandatory military service. The last full-group tour was the “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” tour, which ended in 2019 . They are also preparing to release a new album on March 20, 2026, which will be their first full-group album in nearly four years .

ARMY Reacts to the News and Prepares for Ticketing
The news of the government’s plan to collaborate with BTS has added to the excitement among Indonesian fans, known as ARMY. Many are proud that their country wants to welcome the group in such a special way. On social media, fans have expressed hope that the members will enjoy their time in Indonesia and fall in love with the local culture and food.
However, the main focus for most fans right now is preparing for the ticket war. With only two shows in a massive country, getting a ticket is expected to be very difficult. Based on previous concerts and information from other countries, estimated ticket prices are already being discussed online.
Media reports suggest that ticket prices could range from around Rp 1.8 million for the cheapest categories to around Rp 5 million for VIP packages, though this is not yet official .
Fans are also busy securing their ARMY Membership on the Weverse app. Having an active membership is the main requirement to join the presale, which gives fans a better chance to buy tickets before the general public . The presale is expected to open closer to the concert date, and fans are advised to register for the Jakarta show specifically when the application period begins .
The governmentโs focus is not just on the concert, but on the fans themselves. Vinsensius noted that many K-pop fans in Indonesia are from Gen Z and Gen Y, who are very active on social media. He believes these fans will be at the forefront of spreading positive content about Indonesiaโs beauty to BTS and the rest of the world .
As the December dates get closer, everyone is waiting for more details on the venue, the official ticket prices, and how the promised tourism collaboration will actually take shape.
