The Song Covey sisters are finally together on screen. Netflix released the official trailer for XO, Kitty Season 3 on March 9, 2026, and it confirms that Lana Condor is back as Lara Jean. The elder sister arrives in Seoul just as Kitty’s perfectly planned senior year starts falling apart .
The trailer shows Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) dealing with a whole new set of problems now that she is an upperclassman at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS). Her detailed plans for the year keep going wrong, and she turns to the one person who always gave the best romantic advice — her big sister.
Lara Jean Returns With Sisterly Wisdom
Lana Condor makes her first appearance in the spinoff series after fans watched her lead the To All the Boys film trilogy. In the trailer, Lara Jean sits with Kitty for a heart-to-heart conversation that feels just like the old movies.
“Whatever happens with Min Ho, we can’t just stop living our lives,” Lara Jean tells her younger sister in the clip. “We have to follow our hearts and trust that it will lead us to our next great adventure” .
The moment is a direct callback to the films where Lara Jean often played the romantic guide for those around her. Condor previously said she felt “excited, happy and honored” to return as the character who started it all for the Covey family on Netflix .
Fans online reacted strongly to the cameo. Comments like “AAAAAAAAA LARA JEANNNN” and “Hi sister. LARA JEAN RETURNS!!!” flooded social media after the trailer dropped .
Kitty’s Senior Year Plans Go Wrong
The third season picks up with Kitty returning to Seoul for her final year at KISS. She has everything mapped out — making meaningful memories with friends, growing closer to her Korean relatives, and making big decisions about her future .
Topping that list is her relationship with Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee). The slow-burn romance that built through Season 2 finally reaches a point where Kitty wants to define things “for real this time” .
But the trailer makes it clear that nothing goes as planned. Kitty tries to tell Min Ho how she feels during a gondola ride, but she starts by emphasizing their “friendship” right before his phone rings. Later, she accidentally spills green juice all over Eunice (Han Bi Ryu) who is wearing a sparkly dress for what looks like a music tour performance .
Min Ho’s father, Mr. Moon (Philippe Lee), delivers a harsh truth to Kitty in one scene. “I know you mean well, but you’re trying to fit in a world that you don’t understand,” he tells her .
Full Cast Returns With New Additions
Most of the main cast is back for Season 3. Alongside Anna Cathcart and Sang Heon Lee, viewers will see Minyeong Choi as Dae, Gia Kim as Yuri, Anthony Keyvan as Q, and Regan Aliyah as Juliana. Hojo Shin, who plays Kitty’s cousin Jiwon, has been promoted to series regular .
Three new actors join the ensemble. Sule Thelwell (Saint X) plays a character named Marius. Soy Kim (Like a French Film) takes on the role of Yisoo, and Christine Hwang (Law and Order: SVU) appears as Gigi .
The returning cast also includes Peter Thurnwald as Alex, Joshua Lee as Jin, Sasha Bhasin as Praveena, Michael K. Lee as Professor Lee, Jocelyn Shelfo as Madison, Han Bi Ryu as Eunice, and Sunny Oh as Mihee .
Behind the Scenes Team
Jenny Han, who created the To All the Boys universe and wrote the original books, continues as an executive producer. For Season 3, Valentina Garza takes over as showrunner and writer. Matt Kaplan of ACE Entertainment and Bradley Gardner also serve as executive producers .
The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and maintains the same 30-minute format with eight episodes in total .
Building on the To All the Boys Legacy
XO, Kitty started as a spinoff of the popular film franchise based on Han’s bestselling book series. The original 2018 film To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before became one of Netflix’s “most viewed original films ever” according to the streamer .
The spinoff has carried that success forward. Season 2 debuted at No. 2 on the Netflix English TV List with 14.2 million views in its first week. It appeared in the Top 10 in 89 countries .
This is not the first time characters from the films have crossed over into the series. John Corbett and Sarayu Blue appeared as Kitty’s dad and stepmother in Season 1. Noah Centineo returned as Peter Kavinsky and Janel Parrish as the oldest Covey sister Margot in Season 2 .
What Happened in Season 2
The second season ended with several major developments. Kitty’s scholarship got renewed, allowing her to return to KISS for senior year. She also succeeded in reuniting her late mother’s fractured family and discovered relatives she never knew existed .
On the romance front, Kitty fell for her ex-boyfriend’s best friend Min Ho. Their relationship followed the classic enemies-to-friends-to-could-be-lovers path. Before parting ways for the summer, Kitty asked Min Ho to wait — leaving their status unclear going into Season 3.
