The new South Korean drama Agent Kim Reactivated arrived on Netflix on June 26, 2026 with its first two episodes. The show stars So Ji Sub as a single father hiding a dangerous past who must awaken his old skills when his teenage daughter goes missing.

The action-thriller is based on the popular webtoon “Manager Kim” by Toy and Jung Jong-taek. The series has a 10-episode run, with new episodes releasing every Friday and Saturday. For global viewers, the show is available on Netflix with subtitles in multiple languages.

The Ordinary Life of Manager Kim

The first episode presents Kim Do-hyeon as a mild-mannered bank employee who avoids conflict at all costs. He works at a small savings bank and lives a quiet life raising his teenage daughter Kim Min-ji alone.

Do-hyeon appears so passive that he takes verbal abuse from his boss without fighting back. When a local thug punches him for accidentally touching his car mirror, Do-hyeon simply apologizes and walks away.

At school, Min-ji faces bullying from Joo Hye-ri, the daughter of powerful chairman Joo Kang-chan. The bullying escalates when Hye-ri mocks Min-ji about her mother. Min-ji responds by fighting back against her bullies.

This incident leads to a meeting with school officials where Do-hyeon begs for forgiveness from Chairman Joo, deeply embarrassing Min-ji. She tells her father she will stay at a friend’s house, but the next morning she is nowhere to be found.

Who Is Kim Do-hyeon?

The show reveals that the unassuming bank manager was once an elite special agent known as “Codename 66”. He worked as a covert operative in dangerous North-South Korean missions. His skills were so feared that he landed on North Korea’s blacklist.

Do-hyeon left his violent past behind to honor his late wife’s dying wish. She asked him to “just live as a father.” He built a new identity as a simple bank worker to protect his daughter from the dangers of his former life.

The first episode ends with a glimpse of his true abilities. When confronting one of the thugs involved in his daughter’s disappearance, Do-hyeon uses a girl’s hair tie to interrogate the man. The show makes it clear he will go to extreme lengths to find Min-ji.

Supporting Characters and Their Roles

Son Na-eun plays Jung Sang-ah, Do-hyeon’s colleague who helps him shop for his daughter’s birthday gift. Choi Dae-hoon stars as Sung Han-soo, a friend who runs a taekwondo dojang. Yoon Kyung-ho plays Park Jin-cheol, a former marine who now works as a school crossing guard.

The two friends appear to share a history with Do-hyeon. They meet once a year to drink and talk about their teenage children. Both seem ready to help when Do-hyeon’s past resurfaces.

Joo Sang-wook plays the villainous Chairman Joo Kang-chan. His daughter’s conflict with Min-ji triggers the events leading to her disappearance. Seo Su-min plays the missing daughter Kim Min-ji, a strong-willed teenager who refuses to back down.

Episode 2: Secrets and Bonds

Episode 2 explores the complicated relationship between Do-hyeon and Min-ji. The story reveals that Min-ji hates celebrating her birthday because she believes her mother died giving birth to her. Her mother’s death is more complicated than what has been shown so far.

The episode also highlights the bond between the three former operatives. Do-hyeon connects with his friends Sung Han-su and Park Jin-cheol as they reminisce about their past and their teenage children.

The show establishes that Do-hyeon’s return to his old identity will have consequences. His reactivation draws attention from powerful enemies, including North Korean operatives and South Korean intelligence agencies.
