Their relationship was not easy at first. General Beauvoir did not approve of the match initially. Tristan also felt out of place in Charlotte’s high-society world. However, Charlotte understood that Tristan was changed by the war and accepted him for who he was. In the end, General Beauvoir accepted their relationship for his daughter’s happiness. The season finale showed Charlotte helping Tristan arrange a Christmas tree, solidifying their bond.
