CBS is adding a supernatural comedy to its fall lineup with “Eternally Yours,” a single-camera series from the creators of the hit show “Ghosts.” The network has ordered 20 episodes of the vampire family comedy, which stars Ed Weeks and Allegra Edwards as a married vampire couple navigating centuries of marriage problems.
The show comes from Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, the executive producers and showrunners behind CBS’s successful comedy “Ghosts”. “Eternally Yours” will air on Thursdays at 8:30 PM ET/PT, following “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage”.
A 500-Year Marriage Hits a Rough Patch
“Eternally Yours” centers on Charles (Ed Weeks) and Liz (Allegra Edwards), a vampire couple who have been married for five centuries. Their romance, once passionate, has turned into a dull routine after so many years together.
Living in present-day Seattle with their unusual group of vampire friends, they have settled into a comfortable but lifeless existence. Their predictable life takes a turn when their vampire daughter, Emma, brings home her human boyfriend, Max.
The arrival of Max forces Charles and Liz to face a difficult question: Can their love survive forever, or is eternal marriage more like a life sentence? The show explores what happens when an immortal couple must deal with the same relationship problems as any long-married pair, only stretched across centuries.
Full Cast Announced for the Vampire Comedy
Ed Weeks, known for his role as Dr. Jeremy Reed in “The Mindy Project,” leads the cast as Charles. Allegra Edwards, who played Ingrid Kannerman in Amazon’s “Upload,” stars as his wife Liz.
The supporting cast includes:
- Jaren Lewison (“Never Have I Ever”) as Max, the human boyfriend
- Helen J. Shen as Emma, Charles and Liz’s vampire daughter
- Parker Young (“Suburgatory,” “Enlisted”) as Jesse
- Rose Abdoo (“Hacks,” “Gilmore Girls”) as Phyllis
- Tristan Michael Brown as Mort
- Shylo Molina as Henry
The show features three vampire-human couples at its center: the long-married Charles and Liz, their daughter Emma and her boyfriend Max, and another vampire-human pair, Jesse and Phyllis.
A Long Journey From Script to Screen
“Eternally Yours” has been in development for 11 years. Port and Wiseman wrote the pilot script more than a decade ago, and the project finally gained momentum after years of waiting.
The pilot was directed by Trent O’Donnell, who also directed and executive produced the pilot for “Ghosts”. O’Donnell serves as an executive producer alongside Port, Wiseman, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang.
CBS ordered the series to series in April 2026, choosing it over another comedy pilot called “The Tillbrooks”. The network’s decision means CBS will have three comedy series in the 2026-2027 season: “Ghosts,” “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” and “Eternally Yours”.
A Natural Companion to ‘Ghosts’
Port and Wiseman have always seen “Eternally Yours” as a potential companion to “Ghosts”. Both shows share a supernatural theme and are filmed at the same location in Montreal.
The creators have hinted that the two shows might exist in the same universe. With both series coming from the same showrunners and production team, fans of “Ghosts” may find a similar tone and style in this new vampire comedy.
“Ghosts” has been a major success for CBS, earning rare 100% Rotten Tomatoes ratings for its second and third seasons. The show is currently airing its fifth season and has already been renewed for a sixth. “Ghosts” will return as a midseason show, while “Eternally Yours” takes the Thursday 8:30 PM timeslot in the fall.
