Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 4 aired on April 25, 2026, delivering a tense episode where Yuru uses his hunter instincts to escape a trap and capture his enemy. The episode shifts focus from flashy battles to smart tactics and character building.
The episode begins with Yuru getting used to life at Hana’s house. He is amazed by everyday things like tatami mats, which were a luxury in his village. He also meets Hana’s two guardian daemons—a cat and a dog that are actually a tiger and a wolf. Even Right and Left show respect to these powerful beings.
Meanwhile, at the Kagemori mansion, Asa trains outside. She tries to destroy an apple with her powers but ends up blasting a stone lantern instead. The old man Kagemori Gonzo arrives with Kagemori Jin and others. Gonzo tells Jin to have his daemon clean up the mess. Jin summons Ai, a large anglerfish daemon who swallows the debris.
Jin Kagemori Hunts Yuru Using Asa’s Blood
The Kagemori leaders assign Jin to find Yuru. The only problem is Jin has no idea what Yuru looks like. Asa and Gabby try to draw Yuru’s face. Asa draws him as a handsome boy with sparkles, while Gabby’s daemon creates a traditional Japanese style portrait. Both drawings are more funny than helpful.
Before Jin leaves, Asa warns him that Yuru might try to find her using their blood connection. She gives Jin a vial of her blood, guessing correctly that Yuru would follow the scent.
On the other side of the city, Yuru sits on a rooftop with Right and Left. He asks them if they can track down a place that smells like his blood and has many daemons. They confirm they can. The daemons shift into their golden forms, grab Yuru, and fly toward an underground parking structure.
Yuru Falls Into a Trap But Thinks Fast
Inside the parking garage, Jin walks with two associates, Akio and Haruo. Yuru and his daemons watch from behind a pillar. Someone who looks like Asa steps out of the shadows. Yuru sees her and flashbacks of his village being destroyed hit him all at once. He charges with his machete.
But it is a trap. Ai the anglerfish swoops in and clamps its jaws around Yuru. The teeth act like a cage, trapping him inside. Jin pulls out the vial of blood and explains that Asa warned him about Yuru’s daemons and their strong sense of smell. Jin confirms that since Yuru reacted to the blood, he must be Asa’s twin brother.
Right and Left do not panic. They simply walk calmly toward Jin. Haruo yells at them to stop because their master is a hostage. The daemons keep walking. Jin tells Makoto to open up, and the small anglerfish spits out weapons—swords, shotguns, rocket launchers, crowbars, and spears.
Akio fires a shotgun at Left. Nothing happens. Haruo fires a rocket launcher. Also no effect. Left explains that they are made of stone, so human weapons do nothing against them.
Then Haruo summons his own daemons. A tortoise lands on Left’s head and pins her down with its weight. A rabbit sweeps Right’s legs and bounces around attacking him nonstop.
Left says that they are made of stone and that their firearms have no effect on them.
Yuru’s Hunter Mindset Turns the Tables
Trapped inside the anglerfish’s jaws, Yuru looks at everything around him—the lights, the daemons, the layout. He throws his machete at the tortoise and hits it square in the head. The ability breaks. Left is free. She jumps, tells Yuru to move, and kicks out the teeth of the anglerfish.
Yuru grabs his machete and shouts to Right. Right transforms into his golden form and screams. Every light in the parking structure blows out. Complete darkness.
Haruo’s rabbit daemon senses the daemons moving away. Jin tries to understand what is happening. Then it hits him—Asa had told him that Yuru has the mind of a hunter. Yuru attacks Jin from behind, aiming for his legs. Jin reacts in time and dodges, but Yuru still nicks Jin’s foot with the blade.
Jin calls Makoto to turn on a flashlight. When the light comes on, Yuru is already behind Jin with the machete at his neck. Blood drips from Jin’s foot.
Yuru Chooses Answers Over Revenge
Yuru holds the blade to Jin’s neck. Jin admits he was personally responsible for the attack on Yuru’s village. Yuru’s body shakes with emotion. But he does not swing the blade. He takes a breath and tells Jin to call Asa and get her there. He wants answers about his parents, not just revenge.
The episode ends with Yuru waiting for Asa to arrive. The standoff hangs in the air, promising that brother and sister will finally be in the same room for the first time.
