Salem is in for a wild ride as August kicks off with a week full of danger, romance, and high-stakes drama. Days of Our Lives delivers some of its most intense storylines yet, with kidnappings going wrong, medical emergencies, and the future of Titan hanging in the balance.

The week of August 3-7, 2026, brings dramatic turns for several beloved characters. EJ DiMera‘s carefully laid plans fall apart, Kristen finds a clever way to stay in Salem, and Leo finally tracks down Gwen in Alamania. Meanwhile, Xander and Sarah find themselves trapped together, and Joy faces a serious medical crisis that could change everything.

Here is a detailed breakdown of what is happening in Salem this week.

EJ’s Plan Falls Apart as Lexie Collapses

EJ DiMera thought he had everything under control. His plan to deal with Kristen involved keeping her trapped in a cargo container, but things did not go as expected.

When EJ opens the container, he finds Lexie passed out instead of Kristen. Lexie had been trying to pick the lock to free Kristen when she collapsed. EJ brings Lexie back to the DiMera mansion, but her condition raises serious questions.

Later in the week, Lexie bids farewell to her family again. The question on everyone’s mind is whether she is being honest this time. Many believe it is time for her to tell Abe and Theo the truth about what is really going on.

Kristen manages to avoid EJ’s trap entirely. She remains in Salem and even pays a secret visit to her daughter Rachel on Thursday, August 6. However, she does this while disguised as Susan, proving she found a way to stick around Salem until she can bring EJ down.

Nikki Crawford gets more airtime as Lexie Carver this week, interacting with Dan Feuerriegel‘s EJ on Monday, August 3, and saying goodbye on Wednesday, August 5.

Gwen’s Kidnapping Takes a Shocking Turn

Cat‘s quest to bring down EJ takes an unexpected turn when Rafe tells her that it was Dimitri who kidnapped Gwen, not EJ. This revelation puts a whole new spin on events and changes everything Cat thought she knew.

Dimitri Von Leuschner, played by Peter Porte, resurfaces this week in scenes opposite Greg Rikaart‘s Leo and Emily O’Brien‘s Gwen on Friday, August 7. He made his last appearance on the soap in April.

Over in Alamania, Leo finally finds Gwen, but their happiness is short-lived. They find themselves in a desperate situation and must figure out a way to escape Dimitri.

Javi refuses to back down as the situation grows more dangerous. Leo and Gwen make a desperate move by Friday, but it remains to be seen whether they will succeed.

Philip Plays Matchmaker With Xander and Sarah

Philip Kiriakis decides to take matters into his own hands when it comes to his brother’s love life. He believes his own life will soon be going better, so he wants the same for Xander.

Philip locks Xander and Sarah in close quarters together, hoping they will finally work things out. The plan works better than expected. Sarah finds it hard to resist Xander, and the two share some very close moments.

Xander is forced to confront a hard truth about his feelings. Sarah cannot shake her feelings for Xander either, despite trying her best to resist. Brady seeks Marlena‘s guidance as he deals with the complicated situation.

Paul Telfer and Linsey Godfrey deliver powerful performances as former spouses who clearly still have strong feelings for each other.

Joy’s Medical Emergency Changes Everything

Alex and Joy find themselves at a stalemate this week. Alex pleads with Joy to listen to reason, but she refuses. She will not sign certain papers unless it is stipulated that Stephanie will never be near Kelsey.

Stephanie ends up confiding in Theo again, as he has become her newest sounding board. She knows she made mistakes when she was only trying to make things better.

However, everything changes when Joy experiences a medical emergency this week. What could be wrong with her remains a mystery, but it clearly shifts the dynamics between the characters.

Alex supports Joy when she receives devastating news on Friday. Stephanie confides in Kayla as the situation unfolds. Theo opens up to Stephanie earlier in the week, showing how their bond continues to grow.

Titan’s Future Hangs in the Balance

The Kiriakis brothers get ready to celebrate what they believe will be a windfall that saves Titan. However, they should not celebrate just yet.

Their celebration comes to a crashing halt on Thursday. By Friday, the future of Titan is on the line. Gabi takes satisfaction in EJ’s frustration. The question remains: will Gabi be able to save Titan?

Kate is surprised when Philip gives her the news that Titan has been saved, all thanks to Gabi’s generosity. But with so much uncertainty, viewers will have to wait and see if this salvation is real or temporary.
