The upcoming romantic comedy Dream to You has officially set its broadcast date. The ENA drama will hit Korean television screens on July 13, 2026, at 10 p.m. KST. The production team also released a behind-the-scenes video of the first script reading, giving fans a look at the cast in action.
Hwang In Youp and Hyeri (Girl’s Day) lead the drama as former teenage friends who reunite in their 30s. The script reading session showed the entire cast gathered together, bringing their characters to life for the first time.
What ‘Dream to You’ Is About: A Story of Lost Dreams and First Love
Dream to You comes from writer Jung Eun Bi, who worked on popular dramas like Goblin and Doom at Your Service. The story follows two people who shared the same dream of becoming film directors when they were teenagers. Life took them in different directions.
Hwang In Youp plays Woo Soo Bin, a genius film director. He made a big debut by winning awards at international film festivals. After finding success abroad, he returns to Korea. His true dream is not just fame but reuniting with Joo Yi Jae, the woman he left behind.
Hyeri plays Joo Yi Jae, a broadcast reporter. Unlike Woo Soo Bin, she gave up on her filmmaking dream after facing the hard realities of adult life. She lives with a sense of emptiness. When she hears that Woo Soo Bin is back, she starts to remember the dream she had buried for years.
The drama explores how two people who once loved each other find their way back. It also shows them trying to finish the movie they never got to make when they were young.
Full Cast List and Their Roles
The supporting cast adds more layers to the story. Baek Sung Chul plays Shim Yoo Geon, a minor actor struggling to survive in Seoul. He dreams of becoming South Korea’s version of Takeshi Kaneshiro, the famous Japanese actor. He never gives up on acting, even when opportunities become fewer.
Lee Yul Eum stars as Oh Ha Na, a top actress who has been in the spotlight since birth. Unlike others, she has never had a dream of her own. Her character brings a different perspective to the entertainment industry setting.
Lee Sang Yeob joins the cast as Seo In Wook, the CEO of a film production company. He meets Woo Soo Bin as a colleague on set and they become close friends. Even though they have opposite personalities, they understand each other deeply. Their friendship is expected to bring warmth to the story.
The drama is directed by Yoo Sun Dong, known for The Uncanny Counter seasons 1 and 2 and Trigger.
Script Reading Video Shows Cast Chemistry
The production team released a clip of the first script reading session. The video shows Hwang In Youp, Hyeri, and the rest of the cast sitting around a table, reading their lines for the first time together.
The actors showed strong focus and energy during the session. Hwang In Youp switched between serious and lighter moments smoothly. Hyeri brought her known bright energy to the character of Joo Yi Jae, while also showing the character’s inner sadness.
The production team shared their thoughts on the drama’s message.
“The story follows two people who met at the end of their teenage years and fell in love for the first time. When they reunite in their 30s, they start a journey to achieve both their dreams and their love, bringing excitement and joy to viewers.” – Dream to You Production Team
