The hit Israeli action thriller Fauda is back for a highly anticipated fifth season. The new episodes feature a completely rewritten storyline shaped by the events of October 7, 2023.
Fauda Season 5 premiered in Israel on May 18, 2026, on Yes TV. The season consists of 11 episodes, with the first two episodes released together. An international release date on Netflix has not yet been announced.

Story Progression
Season 5 marks a significant shift for the series. The original script was scrapped following the October 7, 2023, attacks and rewritten to reflect the current war and its aftermath.
Setting and Timeframe
The season takes place two years after the October 7 massacre and the onset of the Swords of Iron war. The story explores the trauma and psychological toll on the characters. The narrative expands beyond Israel to include locations “overseas,” beginning with the unit undertaking a private mission in Marseille, France.
Episode 1 and 2 Synopsis
The season opens with Eli (Yaakov Zada Daniel) and Salem, a Bedouin tracker played by Bian Anteer, traveling to Marseille. Their mission is a personal one: to capture the Hamas operative responsible for killing Salem’s son and Eli’s family. This is an act of vengeance rather than a sanctioned state operation.
Doron (Lior Raz) and Steve join them as the mission grows in complexity. The unit operates without institutional backing, turning them into “men with nothing to lose.” The show focuses on the loyalty between the unit members, described as a fight for “each other’s broken hearts.”
