Bollywood actor Harshvardhan Rane has drawn a unique comparison between an actor’s career journey and the stock market. The Sanam Teri Kasam star opened up about how he views the ups and downs of the film industry, stating that he does not take rejection personally and instead uses it as fuel to work harder.
Rane, who gained renewed recognition after the theatrical re-release of his 2016 romantic drama in 2025, shared his thoughts during a recent interview with PTI. Harshvardhan Rane explained that just like stock prices go up and down based on performance and market sentiment, an actor’s career also experiences similar fluctuations. He used the example of gold to make his point clearer.
“The stock of gold has risen after three to four months, and life is like stocks; when the stocks are rising, it is very mathematical,” Rane told PTI.
The actor made it clear that he does not hold any grudge against the industry when he is not getting enough work. Instead, he views it as a challenge that pushes him to do better.
“I don’t hold it personally (against anyone). If you ignore me tomorrow, I’ll work harder, and if you give me more work, I’ll work even harder,” he said.
Rane also emphasized that he values every opportunity that comes his way. “I value and respect the opportunities given to me and even if I’m not getting the opportunities, it adds to my determination to do some more work,” he added.

He further explained how every project adds to an actor’s growth. “We are seeing that every film of our superstars has changed their graph. Every film and their brand, every launch that they do, it stacks up. So, change is very important,” he added.

Harshvardhan Rane’s journey to where he is today has been far from ordinary. The actor started his career with the television show Left Right Left in 2007 and later worked in Telugu and Hindi films including Thakita Thakita, Naa Ishtam, Haseen Dillruba, and Tara vs Bilal.

Harshvardhan Rane has several exciting projects lined up. He is set to appear in Force 3, where he will play the antagonist alongside John Abraham. The film is part of the popular Force franchise and is expected to release in 2026.
Rane has also wrapped up Omung Kumar’s Silaa, a romance-action film. The movie was shot in Vietnam, Kashmir, and Mumbai.
Another major project is Police Company, directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Rane plays encounter specialist Daya Nayak in the film. The movie also features Fardeen Khan, Saurabh Shukla, Paresh Rawal, and Makarand Deshpande in key roles.
Speaking about working with Varma, Rane praised the filmmaker’s unique approach. “He is the most cinematic guy and suddenly he will break his own grammar and do something that nobody has read or seen anywhere, and everyone is surprised what just happened,” he said.
Rane also shared that Varma’s horror film Bhoot had such a strong impact on him that he stopped watching horror movies altogether. “After watching that one horror film, I’ve never watched any horror film in my life. It was so bad. He scared me completely,” Rane recalled.
He added, “The way he uses sound, you know, there was a shot of an old woman and the shot was of the street and he added the sound of that old woman’s breath as an audio. So scary, but so smart as a director. Without using the visual, just by the audio, he played a lot. Amazing. He’s a genius”.
New Men’s Jewellery Line and Brand Association
Harshvardhan Rane was recently announced as the face of Ti22 by Aham, a new men’s jewellery line by Senco Gold & Diamonds. The collection features titanium, gold, and diamond jewellery.
The launch event took place on August 22 at One8 Commune in Juhu, Mumbai. During the event, Rane spoke about his personal connection to jewellery and how he has always wanted to find the right balance.
“I always like the idea of wearing some metal on me, but I never got the perfect balance. And it used to be either too ceremonial or it used to be too subtle. This is, I think, finally we have found a great balance,” he said.
He also shared a personal memory about his father’s style. “I remember my father used to wear a very simple ring, very simple. But it was always attached to his body and I always saw him wearing it,” Rane recalled.
The actor emphasized that jewellery is not just for special occasions. “You just don’t have to wait for weddings. It’s not like you can only go to weddings. If you notice, I can wear this to my normal meetings, to the gym. If I am going camping in the jungles, I can wear it there as well,” he said.
