Telugu cinema star Jr NTR is dealing with a personal loss. His beloved pet dog Bagheera passed away. The actor shared the sad news on Instagram on August 19, 2026. He posted several pictures and wrote a deep emotional message remembering his four-legged friend.
Bagheera was a Bernese Mountain Dog. He was part of Jr NTR’s life for four years. The actor’s Instagram post showed many special moments. One photo showed Jr NTR hugging Bagheera from behind. Another showed the dog lying on the floor looking at the camera. There was also a mirror picture and a candid shot of them relaxing together on a couch.
The most touching image showed a dug-up patch of ground with a small plant in it. This suggested the actor laid his pet to rest and planted a tree in his memory.

Actor Recovers from Shoulder Surgery Amid Personal Loss
The loss of Bagheera comes at a difficult time for Jr NTR. He is also recovering from a shoulder injury. The actor recently underwent arthroscopic shoulder surgery at KIMS Hospitals in Secunderabad.
He sustained the injury on July 27, 2026 while shooting for his upcoming action film Dragon. His team released a statement after the incident. They said doctors advised complete rest for six to eight weeks for a smooth recovery.
Jr NTR was discharged from the hospital on August 13, 2026. After his discharge, he thanked his fans for their prayers and support. The hospital confirmed the surgery was successful. Doctors now expect a full recovery within two to three months with a rehabilitation program.
A Look at Jr NTR’s Upcoming Projects
Despite his injury and personal loss, Jr NTR has several big projects lined up. His most anticipated film is Dragon, directed by Prashanth Neel. The action drama features Rukmini Vasanth alongside the actor. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon, Khushbu Sundar, and others.
Dragon is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 11, 2027. Filming is expected to resume around October or November 2026 after the actor recovers.
Jr NTR also has a project with director Trivikram Srinivas in the works. It is tentatively referred to as NTR-Trivikram or God of War. Reports suggest the makers have registered two titles: God of War and Devasenapathi. The film is expected to be a mythological epic.
