Two major K-pop stars have recently made big decisions about their careers. Kim Se-jeong and Yong Jun-hyung have both left their longtime agencies. Their departures have caught the attention of fans worldwide. Both artists are now starting new chapters in their professional lives.
Kim Se-jeong Ends 12-Year Journey with Jellyfish Entertainment
Actress and singer Kim Se-jeong has officially left Jellyfish Entertainment. The company announced on March 23, 2026, that they ended her exclusive contract after 10 years. But Kim Se-jeong later shared that she was with the company for 12 years if you count her trainee period. This partnership lasted a very long time. It started from her early days as a trainee and continued through her rise to stardom.
Jellyfish Entertainment released a statement about the departure. They said, “After careful discussion, our company and Kim Se-jeong have agreed to conclude our 10-year journey together and end her exclusive contract.” The agency also expressed thanks to the artist. They said they would “cherish the passion and effort Kim Se-jeong has shown, and all the memories made together with fans.”
Earlier in the year, talks about her contract renewal were still ongoing. In February 2026, Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed they were in discussions with Kim Se-jeong. Reports mentioned she was also meeting with other agencies. It was a period of careful consideration for the star.
Kim Se-jeong shared her personal feelings about the departure on social media. She wrote, “After 12 years, from the start when I was a trainee to creating who I am now, I am leaving Jellyfish, which always stayed by my side.” She reflected on her journey. “IOI, Gugudan, numerous works, solo activities and all those times spent with Jellyfish, and the things I learned and accumulated there made me who I am now.”
The star also spoke about her new beginning. She said she will “trust the heart and time I have learned and accumulated and move forward step by step.” Her words showed that while the decision was tough, she is ready for the next stage.
Kim Se-jeong Signs with BH Entertainment
Kim Se-jeong is not without a home. She has signed a new exclusive contract with BH Entertainment. This agency is famous in the industry. It represents many top actors. The roster includes Lee Byung-hun, Park Bo-young, Kim Go-eun, and Han Ji-min. This move shows her focus on acting. But she will likely continue her music career as well.
Fans are excited about this new partnership. BH Entertainment is well-known for managing successful acting careers. With her talent, Kim Se-jeong is expected to grow even more. Her roles in popular dramas like “Business Proposal” have already made her a household name.
Yong Jun-hyung Leaves Black Made Amid Contract Dispute
Singer Yong Jun-hyung has also left his agency Black Made. But his departure was not as smooth. He announced the end of his contract on March 30, 2026. The singer shared a detailed statement on social media. He explained the reasons for his decision.
Yong Jun-hyung said, “I have repeatedly requested correction regarding a situation in which the major contractual obligations in the exclusive contract with the agency have not been fulfilled for a long period.” He added that the problems continued for years. “However, the issue did not improve for years, and I judged that it reached a situation in which it is difficult to maintain a relationship of trust.”
He officially notified the agency of the contract termination on March 12, 2026. He claims there has been no response from Black Made. He stated, “I consider the contract to have been lawfully terminated, and I will continue my activities independently going forward.”
Previous Conflict with Agency in 2025
This was not the first time Yong Jun-hyung spoke out against Black Made. He had already exposed conflicts with the agency in June 2025. At that time, he said the agency told him to leave. This happened on the very day his album was released. He explained the situation in detail. The agency first offered to cancel the contract without any conditions. But then they changed their mind.
Junhyung claimed the agency later demanded he leave. They also asked him to pay back money invested by a distributor. He said he never approved or discussed this investment. The agency also asked him to pay for damages they calculated. He strongly denied any contract violations. “I have never done anything that violated the contract after signing it,” he argued.
