What Happened in Episode 15
Episode 15, titled “Secret Plan,” focused on the second day of the Contraband Game. Akiyama stepped forward as the first smuggler. Fukunaga believed that Akiyama’s suitcase contained 100 million yen. The opposing inspector also called “Doubt 100 million yen.” But Akiyama’s suitcase was empty.
Fukunaga could not understand why Akiyama did not actively carry money. Akiyama had carefully checked how the ATMs and cards worked in the game. From that, he figured out a way to win. The key to his plan involved getting help from someone on the opposing team, the “Country of Night”.
The “Country of Night” members were controlled through fear. Making them betray their team seemed difficult. But Akiyama was confident. To learn more about how the “Country of Night” was controlled, Nao moved forward to understand the psychology of the opponents.
The Story So Far
LIAR GAME follows Nao Kanzaki, a young woman who is too honest for her own good. One day, she receives a mysterious letter and a suitcase containing 100 million yen. The letter says she has been chosen to join the LIAR GAME.
In this game, players must lie and trick each other to win money. If a player loses, they must pay back the missing amount as debt. Nao, who cannot suspect others, quickly finds herself in trouble. She turns to Shinichi Akiyama, a former con artist who just got out of prison. Akiyama has sharp thinking skills and a great ability to plan ahead.
Together, they work to survive the game. Akiyama wants to help Nao escape from this world. The series does not rely on action or violence. The tension comes from psychological manipulation and characters making hard choices.
Episode 14, titled “Dictatorship,” showed how Yokoya controlled his school through fear. Kikuzawa explained his history with Yokoya. The “Country of Day” team cornered Kikuzawa to make him reveal how he knew Yokoya before the game.
