Shane Gillis’s workplace comedy Tires is coming back to Netflix for its third season. The streaming service has set a release date for the new episodes, and the show’s fan base is ready for more chaos at Valley Forge Automotive Center.
The series follows Will (Steve Gerben), the nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain, who tries to turn his father’s business around while dealing with constant trouble from his cousin and now employee, Shane (Gillis). The comedy quickly became a viewer favorite after its May 2024 debut, reaching No. 2 on Netflix’s Television Top 10 in its first five days and pulling in more than four million views during its opening days.
Tires Season 3 Release Date and Episode Count
Tires Season 3 arrives on Netflix on August 13, 2026. The show’s creators, Shane Gillis, John McKeever, and Steve Gerben, broke the news live during the “Netflix Is a Joke Fest Presents: Bill Simmons with the Creators of Tires” event at The Wiltern.
The third season consists of 12 new episodes. Netflix renewed the series for a third season on July 2, 2025. The renewal came less than a month after Season 2 premiered on June 5, 2025. Season 2 matched the first season’s performance by again reaching No. 2 on Netflix’s TV chart.
Season 1 had six episodes, while Season 2 expanded to 12 episodes. Season 3 keeps the same 12-episode format as its predecessor.
Where to Watch Tires Season 3
All episodes of Tires Season 3 will be available exclusively on Netflix. The show streams globally on the platform, with the release scheduled for August 13, 2026. Viewers in different regions can expect the episodes to drop at the same time, following Netflix’s standard global release pattern.
Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Netflix for those who want to catch up before the new season arrives.
Tires Season 3 Cast and New Additions
The main cast returns for Season 3. Shane Gillis stars as Shane, Steve Gerben plays Will, and Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox, and Stavros Halkias round out the core ensemble.
Thomas Haden Church, who appeared as a guest star in Season 2 playing Phil Jacobs (Shane’s wealthy but immature father), has been promoted to a series regular for Season 3.
The third season also brings in several new recurring cast members:
- Billy Magnussen plays Taylor, a charismatic, self-made entrepreneur with alpha energy who moves through life with effortless charm and high-octane confidence.
- Jamie Lynn Sigler joins in an undisclosed role.
- Sofia Hasmik plays Lucy, a blunt, witty bartender with a magnetic charm. Her laid-back lifestyle and liberal views clash with Shane’s rigidity, even when the two find themselves drawn to each other.
- Taylor Misiak plays Jill, Shane’s former high school girlfriend. When they cross paths again, their familiar banter resurfaces, and their chemistry remains undeniable.
- Dan Soder plays Frank, a classic car collector who trusts Cal (Chris O’Connor) to handle their upkeep.
- Bobby Lee plays Ricky, a slightly unkempt and often chaotic tire company higher-up who throws his weight around as the boss’s son.
Additional cast members for Season 3 include Rachel Blanchard, who plays Bonnie (Phil’s warm, eccentric new girlfriend who brings her spiritual healing rituals into his life and the shop), Garret Dillahunt as Thatch (Frank’s scary brother), Anjelica Bette Fellini as Cara (a chaotic spitfire with a direct, playful presence), and Matt Walsh as Claude (an employee at Tire World).
Story Progression for Season 3
The show’s official logline for Season 2 sets up where the story left off: “After the unexpected success of their big marketing idea, Will and Shane rush to grow personally and professionally without fully realizing the cost of doing business”.
Season 2 saw Will and Shane dealing with the fallout from their rapid expansion. The season explored the personal and professional costs that came with their growth. Thomas Haden Church’s character, Phil Jacobs, took an interest in the business itself, setting himself up as one of the show’s most important figures moving forward.
A logline for Season 3 has not been revealed yet. The show was co-created by Shane Gillis, Steve Gerben, and John McKeever. Gillis also serves as executive producer and stars as Shane Jacobs, an obnoxious employee who constantly torments his cousin Will.
Production Details and Creative Partnership
Production on Tires Season 3 is underway in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The show films on location next to one of Gerben’s real-life dad’s tire shops. Gillis bought out and built out the store next door, turning a West Chester strip mall into a Hollywood set.
The series holds an 89% Popcornmeter rating on Rotten Tomatoes from audience reviews. Critics offered more mixed assessments, with a 58% average score. Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com noted he felt “refreshed by a comedy that doesn’t aspire to do much more than make people laugh”.
Shane Gillis and John McKeever signed an overall deal with Netflix in January 2026. The duo will develop film, series, and unscripted projects for the streamer, and Gillis will add two new Netflix stand-up comedy specials to his roster. Gillis’s first Netflix comedy special was 2023’s Beautiful Dogs. He’ll debut one of those two new stand-up specials later in 2026.
Tracey Pakosta, VP of comedy series at Netflix, said about the partnership:
“Shane Gillis’s unapologetic comedy and knack for finding humor in everyday life is what sets him apart. With Tires, he and John McKeever have turned that same raw, unfiltered energy into a show that feels familiar to many people. We’re excited for our continued partnership which means bringing more of their irreverent comedy to audiences around the world.”
