Netflix has locked in the return of its hit French series Lupin. The streaming platform confirmed that Part 4 will premiere on October 23, 2026, bringing back Omar Sy as the clever gentleman thief Assane Diop. This marks the longest break between parts since the show first arrived in 2021. The new season will feature eight episodes, making it the biggest chapter of the series so far. Fans have been waiting nearly three years since Part 3 dropped in October 2023.

Release Date and Episode Count

Lupin Part 4 arrives globally on Netflix on October 23, 2026. The fourth part consists of eight episodes, each running around 45 minutes. Previous parts had fewer episodes, with Part 3 having seven episodes. This makes Part 4 the longest installment of the series to date. Netflix announced the date on June 8, 2026, alongside a new poster for the season.

All eight episodes will be available to stream at once on the premiere date. Unlike some shows that release weekly, Lupin follows Netflix’s all-at-once model. Viewers can watch the entire season as soon as it drops.

Where to Watch Lupin Part 4

Lupin Part 4 streams exclusively on Netflix worldwide. A Netflix subscription is required to watch the series. The show is available in multiple languages with subtitles and dubbing options. Previous parts of Lupin remain on the platform, so new viewers can catch up before the new season arrives.

Story Details: What Happens After Part 3

Part 3 ended with a major cliffhanger. Assane Diop stole the Black Pearl, won over the French public, faked his own death, and saved his mother’s life. But he realized that the only way to protect his family and friends was to give himself up. He turned himself in to the police. The season closed with Assane sitting in a prison cell.

Part 4 picks up right where Part 3 left off. Assane Diop is now in police custody. He faces new challenges while locked up. The story will show him dealing with the fallout from his past actions. He must find a way to survive behind bars while keeping his family safe. The new season promises more twists, cons, and high-stakes drama.

Several questions from Part 3 remain unanswered. What happened to Benjamin while he was in jail? Why didn’t Hubert Pellegrini use his power to escape after his arrest? Does Keller’s blackmail of Assane have deeper meaning? Part 4 will address these loose ends.

Cast: Who Returns for Part 4

Omar Sy returns as Assane Diop, the gentleman thief inspired by the literary character Arsène Lupin. Sy has played this role since the series began in 2021. He continues to find joy in playing the character.

“I often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything. I find great joy in it every time.” – Omar Sy

The returning cast includes several familiar faces:

  • Ludivine Sagnier
  • Antoine Gouy
  • Soufiane Guerrab
  • Shirine Boutella
  • Théo Christine
  • Laïka Blanc-Francard

Production and Creative Team

Filming for Part 4 began in May 2025 in Paris. Production wrapped by late summer or early fall 2025. The show’s creators took extra time to raise the scale and quality of the new season.

The series is produced by Gaumont in collaboration with Carrousel Studios. Omar Sy is a partner in Carrousel Studios. The show is created by George Kay in collaboration with François Uzan. Sy and Louis Leterrier serve as showrunners.

The writing team for Part 4 includes Mathilde Arnaud, Jean-Yves Arnaud, Tigran Rosine, and Florent Meyer. Directors for the season are Édouard Salier, Everardo Gout, and Hugo Gélin. The music comes from composer Mathieu Lamboley.

Lupin’s Global Success

Lupin has become one of Netflix’s biggest non-English hits. The first three parts rank among the platform’s most-watched content. Part 1 reached an estimated 70 million households worldwide. The show was the first French series to break into Netflix’s Top 10 list in the United States.

The series takes inspiration from Maurice Leblanc’s classic character Arsène Lupin, the gentleman thief from early 20th-century French literature. But the show puts a modern spin on the story. Assane Diop is a contemporary man who uses Lupin as his guide for pulling off elaborate heists.

Part 4 will continue the series’ tradition of stylish action set against the backdrop of Paris. The show blends mystery, thriller elements, and family drama. Assane’s story has always been about more than just theft. It started with his quest for justice after his father was wrongly accused. That personal mission has driven every part of the series.
