The makers of Mirzapur: The Movie originally shot two post-credit scenes but decided to remove one from the theatrical version. The deleted sequence is now being saved for the planned sequel, Mirzapur: The Movie Part 2. The film, which released in theatres on September 4, 2026, has already crossed Rs 100 crore net in India and Rs 150 crore gross worldwide within just four days.
Why The Second Post-Credit Scene Was Removed
According to reports, the extra end-credit sequence was deliberately held back because the filmmakers felt it would have a much bigger impact when the story continues in the next chapter. An industry source told Hindustan Times:
“There was another end-credit scene that was shot for Mirzapur: The Movie, but the makers consciously decided to hold it back for Part 2. The scene initially was to feature at the end of the film and set up what comes next, but the team felt its narrative significance would have a much bigger impact when the story continues.”
The decision was not a reaction to the film’s box office success. Sources confirm that Part 2 had always been part of the plan, which is why the team shot two separate post-credit sequences in the first place. The scene that was held back is now expected to appear in the next installment.
Details Of The Deleted Scene Remain A Secret
The makers are keeping the details of the removed sequence under wraps. There is no official information about which characters were involved or what the scene revealed. The scene was designed to provide a significant clue about where the story is heading. Revealing it prematurely could have reduced its effect on the audience.
