Huluโ€™s hit sci-fi drama Paradise is officially moving forward with its third season. Creator Dan Fogelman has shared new details about when cameras will start rolling on the showโ€™s next chapter. The streaming service confirmed the renewal on March 17, 2026, even before the season 2 finale aired on March 30. This early renewal shows the platformโ€™s confidence in the series, which has pulled in over 30 million viewing hours for its second season alone.

The show follows Sterling K. Brown as Xavier Collins, a former Secret Service agent living in an underground bunker after a worldwide disaster. What started as a murder mystery has grown into a full sci-fi story about survival, secrets, and now time manipulation. Season 2 ended with the introduction of โ€œAlex,โ€ an AI-powered quantum computer that can change time itself.

Dan Fogelman Confirms April 2026 Production Start for Season 3

Fogelman has confirmed that filming for Paradise Season 3 will begin in mid-April 2026. The writersโ€™ room has already finished working on the scripts for all episodes. This quick turnaround from renewal to production has excited fans who want to see how the story ends.

The creator told Entertainment Weekly that he wants to get the new season out faster than before. Season 1 came out in January 2025, and season 2 arrived in February 2026. Fogelman hopes to cut down the waiting time between seasons. He believes that keeping shows on a regular schedule helps both the series and the people watching it.

If everything goes as planned, Paradise Season 3 could arrive as early as January 2027. The show streams on Hulu in the United States. For viewers in other countries, it is available on Disney+ in many regions including the UK, Canada, Australia, and India.

Sterling K. Brown Promises All Questions Will Get Answers

Brown, who also serves as an executive producer, has assured viewers that the show will not leave them hanging. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter after the season 2 finale, he spoke openly about what fans can expect.

โ€œEveryone will get their answers by the time season three is done,โ€ Brown said. โ€œFogelman will say blatantly that Lost was formidable in helping him conceive This Is Us and of Paradise. The way that the past affects and influences the present, and also then the future, is something we play around with in both shows. So all I can really say is that when Paradise is all done, it will all make sense.โ€

This promise carries weight because Fogelman has planned the show as a three-season story from the very beginning. He told The Hollywood Reporter back in January 2025 that he knew exactly where the story would go. Unlike many streaming shows that keep going until viewers lose interest, Paradise has a clear ending in sight.

Season 2 Finale Sets Up Major Sci-Fi Elements for Final Season

The season 2 finale, titled โ€œExodus,โ€ changed everything for the characters. The underground bunker called Paradise faced a complete meltdown, forcing everyone to leave. Sinatra, played by Julianne Nicholson, stayed behind to lock the doors and died in the explosion. But before her death, she told Xavier about a second bunker located 100 miles away under the Denver Airport. That bunker holds Alex, the quantum computer that might be able to save everyone.

Alex is not a person but an AI-controlled quantum system that Henry Miller built to honor his late wife. The computer can predict disasters and even change time itself. Thomas Doherty plays Link, whose real name is Dylan. He helped create Alex and now believes the machine is too dangerous to exist.

The finale also revealed that Link is actually Sinatraโ€™s son, who she thought died years ago. This twist, made possible by Alexโ€™s time powers, shows just how deeply the computer has already changed events.

What to Expect From Paradise Season 3 Storyline

Fogelman has given some hints about what the final season will cover. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, he explained that a big part of season 3 will focus on Xavierโ€™s internal conflict.

Xavier just got his family back together. His wife Teri (Enuka Okuma), who everyone thought was dead, returned at the end of season 2. Now a dying billionaire is telling him to leave his family again and walk 100 miles through a destroyed world to find a computer that might not even work. Fogelman said part of the third season asks whether Xavier will accept this mission or resist it.

The Denver Airport will be a major location in season 3. Fogelman called it a โ€œvery prominent partโ€ of the upcoming episodes. Alex, the quantum computer, sits at the center of everything. The creator said Alex is โ€œat the core of what weโ€™re doingโ€ with season 3.

The show is also leaning harder into science fiction. Fogelman explained that AI and time manipulation are no longer just fantasy ideas. โ€œThese are things that are beyond our mortal comprehension, but that are maybe coming in the near-future. Itโ€™s not just science fiction anymore,โ€ he told Entertainment Weekly.

Returning Cast and New Faces for the Final Season

Most of the main cast members are expected to return for Paradise Season 3. Sterling K. Brown will lead the show as Xavier Collins. Other returning regulars likely include Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Enuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and Charlie Evans.

James Marsden played President Cal Bradford, who died in the very first episode of the series. But Fogelman has confirmed that Marsden will continue appearing in season 3 through flashbacks. โ€œI have had roles for him in mind both in the second and third season as a way that he can play a part in the story,โ€ Fogelman told Entertainment Weekly.

Even characters who seemed to die may return. Fogelman told the LA Times that it would โ€œnot be surprising to see Julianne more,โ€ referring to Nicholsonโ€™s character Sinatra who died in the season 2 finale. With time manipulation now part of the story, flashbacks or alternate timelines could bring back any character.

One surprising character will play a big role in season 3: a baby. Linkโ€™s child, whom he named Annie after the mother Shailene Woodley played, will be important. โ€œThe baby plays a huge part in season 3,โ€ Fogelman said. โ€œOr, I should say, the child plays a huge part in season 3.โ€

The first two seasons of Paradise are streaming now on Hulu and Disney+. The show has earned four Emmy nominations, including outstanding drama series and acting nods for Brown, Marsden, and Nicholson. Brown also won the NAACP Image Award for outstanding actor in a drama series for his role as Xavier.
