SHINee’s Key had to leave the SMTOWN LIVE 2025 concert early due to health concerns. The concert, titled SMTOWN LIVE 2025 [THE CULTURE, THE FUTURE] in SEOUL, took place at Gocheok Sky Dome on January 11th and 12th KST, celebrating SM Entertainment’s 30th anniversary.

Key’s Performance and Health Update

Key performed his solo stage earlier on the second day, but he was unable to participate in the final group performance of Hope, a traditional finale featuring all SM artists. Fans noticed Key struggling during his performance of Gasoline. He appeared visibly unwell, briefly collapsing after the song and requiring assistance from fellow SHINee member Minho to leave the stage.

Key communicated with fans through the fan platform Bubble, explaining his situation:

“I haven’t been feeling well since yesterday, but I managed to push through with medicine and tea. Today, I felt worse and went to the hospital. The test for influenza A came back negative, so it seems to be just a bad cold or the flu. This morning, I couldn’t speak at all, and I was hoping my condition would improve by the evening. However, I don’t think I’ll be able to join the stage for ‘Hope.’ I’m truly sorry to SHINee World who came to the venue and those supporting from afar. Thank you, and I’ll recover quickly and come back stronger.”

Fans expressed their concern and wished Key a speedy recovery, understanding his decision to prioritize his health.

Future SMTOWN LIVE Plans

SMTOWN LIVE 2025 is set to begin its global tour in May. It is expected that Key will rejoin the tour once he has recovered.
