Tom Holland‘s latest Spider-Man film has done something no Hollywood movie has done in India before. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially out-earned the biggest Bollywood and Tamil blockbusters from Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Thalapathy Vijay on their home ground.
The Marvel superhero film, which released in India on July 30, 2026, has crossed the ₹400 crore gross mark in the country. It now stands as the second-highest grossing film in India for 2026, only behind the massive Indian blockbuster Dhurandhar: The Revenge. More importantly, it has beaten some of the biggest Indian films of the last decade.
Spider-Man Surpasses Bollywood’s Biggest Names
The numbers tell a clear story. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has surpassed Salman Khan’s highest-grossing film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which collected around ₹320 crore. It has also crossed Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo, which earned ₹341 crore. Aamir Khan’s Dangal, one of Indian cinema’s biggest successes with nearly ₹387 crore, has also been left behind.
The film opened with a massive ₹60.60 crore net on its first day in India. It collected ₹72.44 crore gross on the opening day, making it the biggest Hollywood opener ever in the country. By the end of its opening weekend, the film had already crossed ₹257 crore in gross collections.
Box Office Numbers Keep Climbing

Language-wise, the English version has led the box office with over ₹200 crore in collections. The Hindi-dubbed version has performed strongly too, adding more than ₹130 crore. Tamil and Telugu versions have also contributed significantly with over ₹20 crore and ₹15 crore respectively.
Day-Wise Performance in India
