South Korean actor Hong Mingi, known for his roles in popular K-dramas like Study Group and Love Your Enemy, is at the center of a serious controversy. An influencer, identified only as “A,” has publicly accused the 24-year-old actor of physical violence, threats, and emotional abuse during their relationship. Hong Mingi’s agency, Fable Company, has strongly denied all accusations and announced plans to take legal action against the accuser.
The allegations surfaced on August 19, 2026, when the influencer shared a detailed account on social media, along with a certified legal document. The situation has quickly become a heated dispute between both parties, with each side presenting very different versions of events.
What the Influencer Accuses Hong Mingi Of
The influencer, who has about 20,000 followers, posted her story on Instagram. She shared a certified letter dated July 28, 2026, from a law firm titled “Notice of Legal Action for Illegal Criminal Acts”. The document lists several serious allegations against the actor.
According to her account, Hong Mingi threw a soju bottle in her direction on a public street, smashing it and leaving her frightened. She also claimed that he physically assaulted her by hitting her shoulder, shoving her, and grabbing her neck. The influencer further alleged that the actor became aggressive when he suspected she was seeing someone else. She said he called her around 40 times in a row and made threatening statements.
“I was going to kill you both if I found you,” the influencer claimed Hong Mingi told her during one of their confrontations.
She also accused him of invading her privacy by secretly checking her phone and KakaoTalk messages without permission. Another allegation involves dangerous behavior. She claimed that Hong Mingi rode an electric kickboard while drunk, with her as a passenger, and that they crashed, resulting in her getting injured.
Claims of Emotional Abuse and Pet Mistreatment
Beyond physical violence, the influencer described a pattern of emotional manipulation. She said the relationship had a repeated cycle where aggressive behavior was followed by affection and attempts at intimacy. At the time, she thought this was love. Only after the relationship ended did she realize it was what she called “clear violence and exploitation”.
She also raised concerns about how Hong Mingi treated his dog, Leo, a pet he often shows on social media. The influencer alleged that behind closed doors, he would kick and verbally abuse the animal. She also claimed that after the legal notice reached his home, he left the dog alone for three to four days while he was unreachable.
The influencer shared additional claims that Hong Mingi made offensive remarks about women and belittled his ex-girlfriend, who is also an actress. She said she suffered from verbal abuse and gaslighting during their time together.
The influencer stated that going public was not her first choice. She did not want her story to become gossip. However, she felt that Hong Mingi had not taken responsibility for what happened, which pushed her to speak out.
Agency Denies All Allegations
Hong Mingi’s agency, Fable Company, has firmly rejected all the accusations. The agency released an official statement on the same day the allegations went public.
“We sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people regarding our actor Hong Min-gi,” the agency said in its statement.
According to the agency, Hong Mingi and “A” started dating around April 2026. The agency claimed that during their relationship, “A” admitted in letters and private messages that she had met another man and apologized for it. Hong Mingi then decided that the trust between them was broken and clearly stated he did not want to continue the relationship.
The agency also claimed that after the breakup, “A” continued to contact Hong Mingi and repeatedly visited his home. They said she even went to his family’s residence. According to the agency, on the morning of August 19, “A” came to his home around 1 a.m. and stayed until about 4 a.m., ringing the doorbell and hitting the door. They claimed that CCTV footage shows her covering the front-door camera with a sticker and kicking the door. The agency described these actions as unwanted approaches and said they are considering legal action under anti-stalking laws.
The agency further alleged that “A” tried to use Hong Mingi’s public image to pressure him. They quoted her as saying things like, “Truth or whatever—I’m just filing a lawsuit; once I file it, you’ll be *,” “You have a lot to lose,” and “Even if (you) never cursed, the truth isn’t important”.
Fable Company stated that Hong Mingi had initially chosen not to respond publicly because the matter involved a private relationship and he hoped it could be resolved quietly. However, after the influencer shared the legal notice and related posts online, the agency decided to speak out.
Influencer Responds to Agency’s Statement
Following the agency’s statement, “A” responded again on her Instagram Stories. She denied that she had stalked Hong Mingi or demanded that he meet her. She said she was only seeking a basic apology and accused the actor’s side of further victimizing her.
Legal Action and What Happens Next
Fable Company has made it clear that they plan to take legal action. The agency said it will use available evidence and legal procedures to establish what really happened. They plan to pursue civil and criminal action, including defamation proceedings, over what they consider false claims. They are also considering legal measures related to the alleged stalking behavior.
The agency ended its statement by asking the public not to draw conclusions from unverified information or to repeat claims that have not been proven as fact.
