In the 10th episode of Survivor 50, MrBeast crashed the game with a mysterious briefcase. What was supposed to be a fun Survivor auction turned into high-stakes drama when the 27-year-old internet star introduced a game-changing twist. The results left players scrambling and sent a two-time Survivor legend packing.
The episode, titled “A Side Dish of Chaos,” aired on CBS on April 29, 2026, for two hours starting at 8 P.M. With only 10 players left and the finale getting closer, MrBeast’s arrival added a layer of tension nobody saw coming. Host Jeff Probst later called the Tribal Council that followed the “single-most fascinating Tribal I’ve ever been a witness to.”
Survivor 50: MrBeast’s Arrival Turns the Auction Upside Down
The chaos started on Day 19 when Jeff Probst gathered the remaining players for a Survivor auction. This was a reward challenge where hungry contestants could bid on food items, letters from home, and other comforts. But Probst warned everyone that each item could bring either “comfort, chaos or both.”
The bidding went smoothly at first. Players won items like grilled cheese, cake, onion rings, fries, toothpaste, blankets, and snack trays. Aubry Bracco had to eat two large grubs before she and her ally Rizo Velovic could enjoy cookies and milk. Jonathan Young from Alabama agreed to eat a boiled sea slug so Ozzy Lusth could get fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Jonathan swallowed the slimy creature, though he could not keep it down for long.
Everything changed when Probst announced the final item. Everyone had to chip in $20 for a mystery prize that would bring either the “best comfort ever” or the “worst chaos imaginable.” The group agreed to gamble. They got their letters from home, a huge emotional boost, but the chaos arrived right after in the form of MrBeast.
MrBeast walked onto the beach holding a dark briefcase. Probst introduced him as the “single biggest YouTuber on planet Earth.” The internet star, who has over 480 million subscribers, told the contestants he was a big fan of the show.
Jonathan Young looked deeply worried. He shared his concerns openly.
“I have watched MrBeast for years and I know that his twists are very very strong. They go high, they go low, and there’s no telling what he’ll do. Part of the reason he’s so famous is because he goes to the extreme. I don’t know, Mr. Jeff, I’m worried.”
The Super Beware Advantage Gets Revealed at Tribal Council
MrBeast did not explain his twist right away. He and Probst kept the details secret, telling the players only that something called the “MrBeast Super Beware Advantage” would be revealed at Tribal Council. The mystery alone made everyone nervous. Probst later described it as creating a “fear of a known unknown” that changed how everyone thought and played the game.

The regular immunity challenge happened next. Tiffany Ervin won the necklace, securing her safety for the vote.
When the group gathered for Tribal Council, the tension was already high because of all the scheming that had happened back at camp. Rick Devens, who played on Survivor 38, immediately started dropping bombs. He told everyone that Jonathan and Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick had tried to get a group together to vote out Ozzy. He also revealed that Stephenie had a “Steal-a-Vote” advantage she could use to take someone else’s vote.
Stephenie tried to deny it but struggled to lie convincingly. Cirie Fields, who had played with Stephenie on other shows like The Traitors, saw right through every word.
Then MrBeast walked in with his briefcase. He opened it to reveal a single gold coin. One side had the MrBeast logo, the other side had Survivor torches.
The rules were simple. One player would flip the coin. If they called it correctly, they would win three things: safety from that night’s vote, an immunity idol to use later, and a doubling of the grand prize from $1 million to $2 million. If they called it wrong, they would be sent home immediately without any vote taking place and the prize money would stay at $1 million. If the group could not agree on who should flip, everyone would draw rocks to decide.
Rick Devens Takes the Biggest Gamble of the Season
Most players hesitated. The risk was too high. But Rick Devens immediately spoke up.
“It’s all mine, Jeff. I was made for this.”
Devens had felt like he was on the bottom of the alliance structure for days. His wife had told him before the season to “embrace the spirit of playfulness,” and he took those words to heart. Nobody else volunteered to take the coin flip, so everyone agreed to let Devens do it.
He called “heads” and flipped the gold coin into the air. It landed on heads. Devens won safety, won an idol, and doubled the prize money for whoever ends up winning the whole season.
The other players patted him on the back, some genuinely happy about the increased prize pot. This has only happened once before in Survivor history.
But the night was not over. The group still had to vote someone out, even with Devens safe.

Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick Gets Voted Out
Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick used her Steal-a-Vote advantage to take Devens’ vote, giving her two votes to cast. She wrote down names, but it did not matter. The rest of the tribe voted against her. The final count was 8-2, and Stephenie became the fifth member of the jury.
This was a huge moment. Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick is a Survivor legend. She first played in Survivor: Palau, where she was the last member of her tribe before getting voted out. She returned for Survivor: Guatemala and made it to the final Tribal Council. This was her fourth time playing the game over nearly 100 total days of competing.
After getting voted out, Stephenie admitted this elimination surprised her the most out of all her seasons. “This one hurt the most,” she said.
Rick Devens, Rizo Velovic, Jonathan Young, Cirie Fields, Aubry Bracco, Joe Hunter, Tiffany Ervin, Ozzy Lusth, and Emily Flippen remain in the game competing for the now $2 million prize.
