The long-awaited return of Sam Winchester and Castiel happens in The Boys, and the first look of The Boys Season 5 Episode 5 promises blood, chaos, and a Homelander twist.

Prime Video dropped the teaser for The Boys Season 5 Episode 5 on April 26, 2026, and it finally shows what happens when Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins share the screen again. The trio, who starred together on Supernatural for 15 seasons, are reuniting in Eric Kripke’s dark superhero world. And it looks nothing like the CW drama fans remember.

The episode, titled “One-Shots,” arrives on April 29, 2026, at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET on Prime Video. Viewers in the UK can watch at 8 a.m. BST, while Indian audiences get it at 12:30 p.m. IST. Australian fans will see it in the evening around 5 p.m. AEST.

Padalecki and Collins Join as Sleazy Supes With a Dark Purpose

The teaser confirms that Padalecki plays Mister Marathon, the original speedster of The Seven who was replaced by A-Train. Collins takes on the role of Malchemical, a supe with unstable powers. These aren’t heroic cameos. Kripke made sure of that.

“What I love about what they’re doing is they’re just such douchebags. It’s great. I mean, Soldier Boy is no treat either, but they’re just really not morally upstanding dudes.” – Eric Kripke, showrunner

Kripke told Entertainment Weekly that he wanted Padalecki to play a “coke-blowing scumbag” because the actor is known for playing good guys. The showrunner added that Padalecki “crushed it.”

The teaser shows Homelander (Antony Starr) and Soldier Boy visiting Mister Marathon to ask about V-One. That’s the original super serum that could make Homelander immortal. Mister Marathon responds, “You’ve come to the right place,” setting up a dangerous exchange.

The Reunion Turns Violent Within Seconds

Fans hoping for a warm Supernatural moment will be disappointed in the best way possible. The teaser shows Soldier Boy grabbing Collins’ character by the neck. Another quick shot shows a bloody explosion, with someone’s body blowing up all over Mister Marathon.

Ackles teased that even he was surprised by how far the episode goes.

“I did not expect some of the things that we filmed in that sequence to go the way they did. It’s a messy one.” – Jensen Ackles

Collins posted an Instagram video with Padalecki and Ackles promoting the episode. He wrote, “Team Free Will’s bodily fluids are going to be all over Episode 5 of The Boys.” He also invited fans to join a watch-party Zoom on Wednesday, where he will give away signed show merchandise including his script.

Why Mister Marathon Matters to the Final Season

The Boys Season 5 is the last chapter of the series. The story has reached a breaking point. Homelander controls everything. Butcher is ready to release a virus that kills all Supes. And key members of the resistance are either captured or missing.

Bringing in Mister Marathon and Malchemical at this stage isn’t random. The teaser makes it clear that Homelander believes V-One is the key to becoming immortal. If Mister Marathon has information about the original Compound V, that knowledge could change everything in the final three episodes.

Kripke explained that scheduling had blocked Padalecki from joining earlier because of his show Walker. Once Walker ended, the window opened. The writers then built a role that “really moves the story forward” instead of just a quick appearance.

The Boys Season 5 Episode 5: Teaser Drops Other Wild Details

The 60-second promo includes several bizarre moments that fans have come to expect from The Boys. Homelander shows his rear end uncomfortably close to the camera. Terror, Billy Butcher’s dog, appears to be enjoying himself too much. Someone has a very unfortunate toilet experience.

Giancarlo Esposito’s Stan Edgar ends the teaser saying, “It should be a delightful reunion.” The line is clearly sarcastic, given how violent the footage looks.

Misha Collins also promised to host a “big shit-talking watch-party zoom” for fans who want to experience Episode 5 together. He will give away signed items including his script from the episode.

What Comes After The Boys Season 5 Episode 5

The Boys Season 5 has three episodes left after “One-Shots” drops. The schedule continues weekly on Prime Video:

  • Episode 6: May 6
  • Episode 7: May 13
  • Episode 8: May 20 (series finale)

Episode 5 is the halfway point of the final season. Kripke has said that the ending will not pull punches. With Homelander chasing immortality and Butcher holding a supe-killing virus, the final episodes promise a bloody conclusion.
