Netflix‘s hit medical K-drama The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is reportedly set to return for not one but two more seasons. Reports from Korean media on June 22, 2026, indicate that the streaming platform is planning to produce Seasons 2 and 3 back-to-back.

The show became a massive success after its quiet release on January 24, 2025. It quickly climbed to No. 1 on Netflix’s Top 10 in South Korea within 24 hours and dominated the charts for 22 consecutive days. The series also ranked No. 1 in the global Non-English TV category during its fifth week, amassing 32.6 million views across 26 countries in its debut week alone. It even overtook Squid Game Season 2 on the global charts during its run.

Production Plans for Seasons 2 and 3

According to reports from MyDaily, filming for the next installments is scheduled to begin in October 2026. The production team plans to shoot Seasons 2 and 3 simultaneously. Season 2 will reportedly consist of eight episodes, with scripts already completed for the first four episodes.

The main cast from Season 1 is expected to return. This includes Ju Ji-hoon as the genius surgeon Baek Kang-hyuk, along with Choo Young-woo, Ha Young, and Yoon Kyung-ho. New characters will also be introduced as the story progresses.

The upcoming season will follow Baek Kang-hyuk as he visits a severe trauma center located in a rural area. This change of setting will bring different kinds of medical emergencies, moving the story away from the original hospital environment. Lee Nak-jun, the original author of the web novel Trauma Center: Golden Hour, previously expressed interest in continuing the story, saying on a YouTube channel that he had already thought about Seasons 2 and 3.

Netflix Confirms Talks Are Underway

Following the reports, a Netflix representative responded to Edaily, stating, “We are positively in talks to produce future seasons of The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, but there is nothing confirmed yet. We will inform you once detailed information is confirmed.”

This follows earlier statements from the creator, who hinted at the show’s potential for multiple seasons if it performed well. He confirmed that the story was not finished after Season 1, which encouraged audiences to read the original web novel and webtoon.
