Episode 10 Recap: What Happened Before Episode 11
Episode 10, titled “The Curse of Relics” , was a turning point for the series. It received a 3.7 community score on Anime News Network, with reviewer Grant Jones calling it “the best entry of the entire season.”
The episode opened with Irene Holton struggling against the Midas relic. Jooheon encouraged her to assert her dominance over it, and she succeeded in forming a contract with the powerful artifact. This marked a major step in their partnership.
The victory came with a strange side effect. Irene developed an overwhelming desire to be close to Jooheon, specifically to smell his scent. She associated his presence with safety, while Jooheon remained completely oblivious, even wondering if he smelled bad.
A darker thread emerged when Jooheon learned that Irene’s parents were suffering from Relic Syndrome, an illness caused by prolonged exposure to relics. The condition was progressing faster than normal, leading Jooheon to suspect another relic user was accelerating it.
The episode also introduced Pandora, an international organization claiming to regulate relic use. Jooheon immediately saw through their public mission and recognized them as a threat to his plans. Meanwhile, Keira Clark demonstrated her terrifying relic ability, which allows her to attack targets from extreme distances if she can identify their location.
The introduction of George, Irene’s brother, added a new dynamic. George pointed a gun at Jooheon for ripping him off, creating one of the most grounded moments of the season.
What Happens in Episode 11
Episode 11 shifts the setting to the Republic of Bent (ベント共和国). Jooheon and his group are searching for the “Relic of Tianfu” (天福の遺物).
The group gathers information at a casino and eventually reaches a tomb. Inside, they discover something unexpected: a tea plantation where many children are being forced to work as laborers.
Jooheon approaches the “Relic of Shennong” (神農の遺物), the artifact responsible for creating the tea plantation, and attempts to negotiate with it. This marks a new kind of challenge for Jooheon, one that involves dealing with a relic that has its own agenda and control over a vulnerable population.
The episode continues the storyline of Irene’s deteriorating condition. With Irene’s health declining rapidly, Jooheon is also on a quest to find Xufu’s Relic, which may hold the key to helping her parents and possibly Irene herself.

The anime is a South Korean production, but it airs with a Japanese dub in Japan. The Japanese version changes character names: Jooheon Suh becomes Ryōga Gōriki, and Irene Holton keeps her name. An English dub also exists, with Monty Thompson voicing Jooheon and Cassie Ewulu as Crow.
