Zee Studios has revealed its biggest multilingual film lineup yet for 2026-27. The studio is backing more than 20 movies spanning Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, and Kannada languages. The slate brings together some of the biggest names in Indian cinema, including Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Nayanthara, and Anupam Kher. The announcement, first reported as a Variety exclusive, signals a major shift in how the studio approaches content creation.
A Zee Studios spokesperson explained the thinking behind this strategy: “Our portfolio strategy is driven by the belief that India cannot be represented through one kind of story, one language or one cinematic lens. Every market has its own audience, talent, creative ecosystem and entertainment sensibility, and our ambition is to reflect that diversity through the films we back.”
The upcoming portfolio includes commercial entertainers, action spectacles, romance, thrillers, mythology, and suspense stories. This is a clear move away from focusing on a single film industry. The studio is now building a genuine pan-India content pipeline.
Star-Studded Hindi Slate Leads the Pack
The Hindi-language lineup is the most packed with big names. The leading project is Baap, a large-scale entertainer starring Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, and Mithun Chakraborty. Vivek Singh Chauhan is directing this film, which brings together four veteran actors in one project.
Mythology and history get their own space with Shri Ram Bhoomi. The film stars Anupam Kher, Ritwik Bhowmik, and Amruta Khanvilkar. Kamakhya Narayan Singh is directing this project, which draws from Indian mythology and history.
The Hindi slate also includes three thrillers. Delhi 2021 stars Richa Chadha and is directed by Abhishek Acharya. Blind Babu features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pavan Malhotra, and Zakir Hussain, with Ravi Varma directing. Blind Game stars Arjun Rampal and Priyamani under the direction of Sangeeth Sivan.
Another Hindi project is Silaa, headlined by Harshvardhan Rane, Sadia Khateeb, and Karanveer Mehra. Omung Kumar is directing this film, continuing the studio’s push into commercial action entertainment.
Zee Studios is also collaborating with Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network for the first time on a project called Paaltu.
Telugu Slate Features Balakrishna and Venkatesh
The Telugu-language slate is just as impressive. The most talked-about project is NBK111, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. Gopichand Malineni is directing this film, which is currently known only by its working title.
Another major Telugu project is Indraputra, a mythological action-fantasy starring Kiran Abbavaram. Srikanth Puppala is directing this film, which is set for a worldwide theatrical release in 2027. Producer Prerna Arora is also attached to this project.
The Telugu lineup also includes January 12 Vidudala, which brings together Venkatesh Daggubati, Keerthy Suresh, and Kalyan Ram. Anil Ravipudi is directing this film. Other Telugu titles include Kanaka Durga and Anasuya General Stores.
Tamil Slate Led by Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh
In the Tamil language, Zee Studios is backing Hi, starring Nayanthara and Kavin. Vishnu Edavan is directing this film.
The other Tamil project is Sathyavan Savithri, featuring Keerthy Suresh and Mysskin. Praveen S. Vijaay is directing this film.
Kannada, Gujarati, and Marathi Films Expand Studio’s Reach
The Kannada-language entry is Anna From Mexico, starring Dhananjaya, Reeshma Nanaiah, Umashree, Rangayana Raghu, and Sadhu Kokila. Shankar Guru is directing this film.
Zee Studios has also entered the Gujarati-language market for the first time with Tom and Cherry. The film stars Siddharth Randeria and Dhanya Doshi, with Dharmessh Mehta directing.
Marathi cinema continues to be an important part of the studio’s strategy. This follows the success of Aatmapamphlet, which earned National Award recognition. The new Marathi slate includes Jhep, directed by Priyadarshan Jadhav; Phulwara, starring Priyadarshini Indalkar and directed by Ravi Jadhav; Jogai, starring Jitendra Joshi and Sajiri Joshi under Vishal Modhave; and Maan.

The strategy behind this massive slate is rooted in reflecting India’s diversity through cinema. The studio is not just making films in multiple languages but is also exploring different genres to connect with various audiences.
The Zee Studios spokesperson added: “From Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam and Gujarati to Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and other language markets, we are dedicated towards building an unconventional content ecosystem with differentiated storytelling. For us, entertainment serves as the backbone for multilingual and multi-genre cinema, blurring the geographical and colloquial boundaries. We are focused on bringing together stories that can connect with audiences across India and beyond.”
The studio has also released a teaser reel giving a glimpse of the upcoming film slate.
Zee Studios’ official social media account shared the announcement with the message: “From every corner. For every audience.”
The slate includes a mix of big-budget spectacles and smaller, regionally rooted stories. This balanced approach shows the studio’s focus on building a strong presence in established markets while also finding opportunities among newer audiences and language segments.
The genre mix extends further with projects like Venkyanil5 and NKRAR2, though details about these films are still limited.
With more than 20 films in the pipeline across eight languages, Zee Studios is making one of the biggest bets on multilingual cinema in recent years. The lineup brings together some of the biggest stars from different film industries, making it one of the most ambitious slates announced by any studio in India.
