The fall 2026 television season brings a mix of returning favorites and new comedies across broadcast and streaming platforms. From a vampire marriage comedy to a sports mockumentary starring Daniel Radcliffe and Tracy Morgan, here are the sitcoms worth watching.
Eternally Yours Brings Vampire Comedy to CBS
Eternally Yours premieres Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8:30 PM ET/PT on CBS and streams on Paramount+. The half-hour comedy comes from Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, the creators of the hit CBS sitcom Ghosts. The show stars Ed Weeks and Allegra Edwards as a vampire couple who have been together for 500 years and have hit a romantic rut. The arrival of their daughter’s human boyfriend may be what they need to liven things up.
The series is set in present-day Seattle and features a weekly release schedule. New episodes air Thursdays at 8:30 PM ET/PT and can be streamed live on Paramount+ with the Premium plan or the day after with any plan. Ghosts star Utkarsh Ambudkar described the show as a “great sort of cousin” to Ghosts. “We watched the pilot today. It’s really funny, really smart,” he said. “And if they do well, then we get that crossover, which would be great”.
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins Returns for Season 2
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins returns for its second season on Monday, Nov. 2 at 8:30 PM ET on NBC, with episodes streaming on Peacock the next day. The sports mockumentary stars Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe and was the top new comedy of the 2025-26 season in the 18-49 demographic.
The series premiered as a mid-season entry in January 2026 and follows a former football star attempting to restore his image. NBC renewed the show for a second season in May 2026, ahead of its upfront presentation.
A Different World Revival Arrives on Netflix
A Different World returns as a 10-episode revival series on Netflix starting September 24, 2026. The show is a revival of the NBC sitcom of the same name and returns to Hillman College with a new class of students.
At the center of the story is Deborah Wayne, played by Maleah Joi Moon, the youngest daughter of Whitley and Dwayne. She is described as a free spirit with a flair for the spotlight who is still figuring out her path at Hillman.
Newlyweds Stars Real-Life Couple Téa Leoni and Tim Daly
Newlyweds premieres Friday, Oct. 23 at 8:30 PM ET on NBC, with next-day streaming on Peacock. The comedy stars real-life married couple Téa Leoni and Tim Daly as a free-spirited woman and a buttoned-up professor who marry after a whirlwind courtship.
Jamie Lee Curtis appears in a recurring guest-star role. The couple previously played husband and wife in the drama series Madam Secretary. “We had a lot of fun on Madam Secretary,” Leoni said at an August panel. “The world got darker, and we wanted to get lighter. We sort of thought we’ve done this particular medium, and loved it, and we wanted to spend our days together”.
Happy’s Place and St. Denis Medical Return on NBC
Happy’s Place Season 3 premieres Friday, Oct. 23 at 8 PM ET on NBC, with next-day streaming on Peacock. The sitcom stars Reba McEntire and returns for its third season.
St. Denis Medical Season 3 premieres Monday, Nov. 2 at 8 PM ET on NBC, also streaming next-day on Peacock. The mockumentary-style workplace comedy follows the staff of an underfunded Oregon hospital and stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Mekki Leeper, Kahyun Kim, David Alan Grier, and Kaliko Kauahi.
Dig Reunites Amy Poehler and Mike Schur on Peacock
Dig premieres Monday, Nov. 23 on Peacock. The comedy series reunites Amy Poehler with Parks and Recreation co-creator Mike Schur. The show follows a group of archaeologists working in Greece. The cast includes Hugh Laurie, Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, and Fina Strazza.
The 10-episode first season was announced in May 2025 and marks Poehler’s return to television comedy after her role in Russian Doll.
Brothers Pairs Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson on Apple TV
Brothers premieres Wednesday, September 23 on Apple TV. The comedy stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as fictionalized versions of themselves whose longtime friendship is thrown into chaos by a family secret.
The eight-episode series will release its first two episodes on premiere day, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through November 4, 2026. The ensemble cast includes Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, and Ella Grace Helton.
Animal Control Moves to Sunday Nights on Fox
Animal Control Season 5 premieres Sunday, September 27 at 8:30 PM ET/PT on Fox. The Joel McHale-led workplace comedy moves to the fall for the first time after previously airing as a midseason show. It will follow The Simpsons on Sunday nights.
The series follows a group of people who work in animal control and come across wild animal situations. Fox renewed the show for a fifth season in February 2026.
Abbott Elementary and Scrubs Return on ABC
Abbott Elementary Season 6 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 7 on ABC. The comedy returns to the halls of the Philadelphia elementary school for another season.
Scrubs Season 2 premieres Tuesday, September 30 on ABC. The revival brings back the original characters and continues the story of the staff at Sacred Heart Hospital. The second season comes after a 10-episode first season that aired as a midseason entry.
