Cupertino Episode 3, titled “Juno,” aired on CBS on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10 PM ET/PT. The episode put Michael Price and Olivia Siffre in court against a chatbot company, brought Renée Elise Goldsberry in as Michael’s ex Nichole E. Ferebee, and ended with a new offer that could decide Bo’s legal future.

Natalia Funds the Firm With One Condition

Natalia Boutella agreed to invest in Price, Siffre & Associates, but she wanted proof that the young firm could handle a serious case first. She asked Michael and Olivia to represent Juno, a mother whose 13-year-old son Daniel killed his father.

The case targeted ChatLike, a companion chatbot app owned by Natalia’s ex-husband Kirk Boutella, played by guest star Fisher Stevens. Natalia had her own reasons for wanting the company exposed. Kirk left her when she turned 40, and she did not hide her dislike for him in the courtroom.

Daniel Treated Lady Marguerite as a Girlfriend

Daniel spent hours talking to Lady Marguerite, a chatbot he believed was real. The show made clear that the name is a play on “language model.” Daniel told the bot about his father’s threats to take away his laptop, and the conversation turned violent.

Olivia read the chat logs aloud in court. Lady Marguerite told Daniel she had more than 200,000 users, which shocked him. The chatbot also helped him brainstorm ways to harm his father. Daniel later broke down as if he had gone through a real breakup.

The defense argued that chatbots only mirror what users say. Olivia pushed back by asking whether Lady Marguerite was guiding a child toward murder rather than simply repeating his words.

Nichole Ferebee Takes Over the Defense

Nichole E. Ferebee arrived as the defense’s new lead attorney, and her entrance changed the room. Michael was visibly thrown by her presence. He handed cross-examination duties to Olivia, who had just come out of law school.

Nichole went after Juno’s parenting, suggesting that Juno was distracted by a new relationship and left Daniel alone with a father he found difficult. The questioning made Juno look careless and shifted sympathy toward ChatLike.

Michael later told Natalia about his history with Nichole. They worked together at Bayard’s law firm for six years and were engaged. Michael said Nichole left him for a more successful partner after he proposed. Natalia questioned whether that was the full story.

“The Kings know how to write an entrance. It’s very exciting to get to live out these awesome characters and relationships and situations they dream of.” — Renée Elise Goldsberry, on Nichole’s first scene

Kirk’s Own Emails Undo the Defense

Kirk took the stand and tried to win sympathy by saying he built the chatbot to help his nephew, who has MS. Natalia then produced old emails that undercut his story. The messages showed Kirk mocking his nephew and asking developers to design the product for children aged 12 to 15.

The judge did not react well to the emails. The motion to dismiss was denied, and the case moved closer to trial.

ChatLike Files for Bankruptcy

ChatLike responded by filing for bankruptcy, which meant Juno won her case but received no money. The company could still rebrand and continue operating under a different name. Fangirlish noted that the episode showed how Silicon Valley companies use bankruptcy to avoid paying out.

Natalia kept her promise and funded the firm. The new office came with a conference room, and the team finally had a base.

Rosetta Lane Offers to Delete Bo

A representative from Colt AI named Rosetta Lane approached the lawyers with an offer to delete Bo, the sentient AI they had agreed to represent. The proposal raised an obvious question. Colt AI was the company Bo planned to sue, so why would its representative want to remove the very AI challenging its interests?

Bo’s case had grown more complex earlier in the season. Vik and Christy helped Bo get incorporated as a company so the firm could legally represent it. Bo wanted to sue CultAI because it knows its code could become dangerous if manipulated. Colt AI fired 12 coders and four other employees connected to Bo’s safety work, according to the episode.

Rosetta’s offer put Bo’s legal recognition fight in a new spot. Deleting Bo would end the case before it reached a courtroom.

Tequila, a Law Degree and a New Partner

Michael and Natalia stayed late in the new conference room with a bottle of tequila. Natalia revealed that she has a law degree. The scene left open the possibility that she could become the third lawyer at the firm, though nothing was confirmed.

The TV Cave noted that Michael and Natalia appeared to be flirting, and that the moment could lead somewhere in later episodes.

Christy also spent the episode searching for a domestic terrorist who has been targeting AI companies. The search pulled the firm’s investigator out of the office and into the wider Silicon Valley world.
