The silence is breaking with new looks from the set of A Quiet Place Part III. Fresh photos have surfaced online showing Cillian Murphy back as Emmett, running alongside new cast member Jack O’Connell. The images give fans their first real peek at the upcoming horror sequel, which started filming about a month ago in New York.
Murphy Returns as Emmett in First Look Images from the Set
The set photos, shared by user @gofckapineapple, show Murphy in full survival gear running next to a brown building. Right behind him is Jack O’Connell, also dressed for the apocalypse. Both actors look like they are in a hurry, though it is not clear if they are running away from the sound‑sensitive aliens or just moving quickly to another location.
Murphy first played Emmett in A Quiet Place Part II (2021). Emmett started as a hardened, reclusive survivor and a friend of John Krasinski’s late character, Lee Abbott. By the end of the sequel, Emmett escaped with Regan Abbott (Millicent Simmonds) to an island colony of survivors. He watched Regan use the feedback from her cochlear implant to kill one of the creatures. Even better, she left the implant signal running next to a radio, meaning anyone on that frequency can now weaken the aliens.
The new movie picks up after those events. Emmett made it out alive, so he is ready to face the monsters again. The set photos confirm he is back in action.
New Cast Members Join the Silent Fight
Jack O’Connell is playing a soldier in A Quiet Place Part III, but his exact role is still a secret. O’Connell has plenty of horror experience. He stars in Sinners and the first two 28 Years Later movies. His previous work also includes Starred Up and ’71.
Katy O’Brian, known for Love Lies Bleeding, has also joined the cast. So has Jason Clarke, who appears in A House of Dynamite and The Last Frontier. Both are playing undisclosed characters. They join returning stars Emily Blunt (Evelyn Abbott), Millicent Simmonds (Regan Abbott), and Noah Jupe (Marcus Abbott).
Director John Krasinski announced the new cast members on Instagram in March 2026. He shared a photo of scripts with their names on the covers. He wrote at the time, “So proud to be a part of this #AQuietPlace family… old and new! Here we go!”
Filming in New York and What to Expect from the Story
Principal photography for A Quiet Place Part III began in May 2026 in New York City. Krasinski shared a photo of the film slate in front of the Manhattan Bridge Arch and Colonnade in Chinatown to mark the start of production. The choice of New York City is notable because the 2024 prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One, was also set in NYC. That movie starred Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn. Krasinski’s sequel now appears to explore the city’s ruins further.
No official plot details have been revealed yet. It is also not known how much time has passed between Part II and Part III. At the end of Part II, Reagan left the cochlear implant signal running next to a radio. That means anyone listening to that frequency can weaken nearby aliens. This gave her brother Marcus a way to escape a similar attack with his mother and Emmett’s infant son. The new movie will likely show how the survivors use this advantage.
Krasinski is directing from his own script. He is also producing alongside Allyson Seeger for Sunday Night, and Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form from Platinum Dunes. The filmmaker has hinted that Part III might be the final chapter of the main story.

Release Date and Franchise Expansion
A Quiet Place Part III is scheduled to open in theaters on July 30, 2027. It will arrive three years after the prequel spinoff A Quiet Place: Day One, which showed the very first day of the alien invasion.
The franchise has grown beyond movies. There is a video game called A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead and a comic book limited series titled A Quiet Place: Storm Warning.
Fans in the USA can see Part III in theaters nationwide. UK and Canada viewers will get the same release date. Australia and India are also set for a July 30, 2027 theatrical release, though local dates may vary by a day depending on time zones. Paramount Pictures is handling global distribution.
