BTS kicked off their four-night sold-out run at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on September 1, 2026, as part of their ARIRANG World Tour. The night was special for multiple reasons. It marked the group’s first LA concert in nearly five years, and it also happened to be Jungkook’s 29th birthday.
The stadium, which holds 70,000 people, was packed with ARMYs from around the world. The group performed songs from their latest album “Arirang,” including the opening track “Hooligan,” and took fans through two hours of hits like “Dynamite” and “MIC Drop”.
But one moment stood out above the rest. After the show ended, Jimin made sure Jungkook had the last word. He asked the birthday boy to stay on stage for a few extra seconds and be the final member to exit, ensuring all the spotlight remained on him.
Jimin Makes Sure Jungkook Gets Final Spotlight
The gesture came after V had earlier pushed Jungkook to the center when the group first entered the stage. Jimin took it a step further at the end of the concert. He repeated what V did and told Jungkook to remain at the venue as the last one to leave.
This small but meaningful act let Jungkook have the final on-screen moment of the night. The cameras stayed on him as the other members walked off, giving him one last chance to soak in the love from the crowd.
Fans quickly noticed the gesture and took to social media to share their appreciation. Many pointed out how Jimin always looks out for his younger bandmate, especially on such an important day.
A Birthday Celebration Like No Other
The concert doubled as a huge birthday party for Jungkook. The celebrations started early during the soundcheck, with the members singing “Happy Birthday” to him. Backstage, J-Hope shared a video showing Jungkook surrounded by balloons, decorations, and his bandmates.
RM changed his lyrics during “MIC Drop” to include a birthday shoutout. V also screamed a birthday message during the performance of “FYA”.
The biggest moment came during the encore. The entire stadium joined BTS in singing “Happy Birthday”. Jin brought out a silver crown and placed it on Jungkook’s head. Jimin encouraged him to make a wish before he blew out the candles on a two-tiered cake decorated with gemstones.
Golden Ocean Lights Up SoFi Stadium
Fans also organized a special project for Jungkook. They turned their phone flashes golden by placing golden stickers over the lights. One ARMY reportedly bought nearly 70,000 golden stickers to help make it happen.
The golden glow filled the entire stadium as Jungkook gave his ending message. Fans compared the sight to a sky full of stars. Many wore golden hats to match the theme, celebrating BTS’ “Golden Maknae” on his 29th birthday.
Jungkook Shares His Special Day With a Fan
Jungkook didn’t keep all the birthday gifts for himself. During the concert, he took off the crown and his custom T-shirt, which had “HBD JK” printed on it, and gave them to a fan in a wheelchair who was sitting in the front row.
He jumped down from the stage, walked over to the fan, and placed the crown on her head. The moment brought a huge smile to her face and left the audience in awe.
Jimin had also done something similar earlier in the concert, showing kindness to a fan. Both members demonstrated the group’s strong connection with their supporters.
