Episode 9 Release Date and Viewing Details
Dutton Ranch Episode 9, titled “El Padrino,” will be released on Friday, July 3, 2026. It will be available to stream on Paramount+ starting at 3 a.m. ET, and will also air on the Paramount Network at 8 p.m. ET. The season consists of nine episodes, and the series has already been renewed for a second season.
For viewers in Spain, the finale will premiere on SkyShowtime on July 10, 2026.
Rip vs. Rob-Will: A Confrontation Is Coming
The Season 1 finale will see a direct confrontation between Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and Rob-Will Jackson (Jai Courtney). The trailer for Episode 9 shows Rip punching Rob-Will and knocking him to the ground.
The tension between the two characters has been building throughout the season. Rob-Will, the wayward son of Beulah Jackson, is the primary antagonist, and his actions, including the murder of ranch foreman Wes Ayers in the first episode, have put him on a collision course with Rip. When Rip asks Rob-Will if he is running on drugs, Rob-Will defiantly replies that he would rather die than tell him about it. Beth Dutton is also present, telling Rob-Will he is “already a dead man.”
Despite the animosity, actor Jai Courtney has suggested that there might be potential for the two to join forces one day, stating, “They’re two alpha guys, Rip and Rob. There’s a potential for arm wrestles and camaraderie at some point.” However, for now, they are set to clash in the finale.
Joaquin’s Game-Changing Phone Call to Mariano Reyes
The final moments of Episode 8 saw Joaquin Reyes (Juan Pablo Raba) make a desperate phone call to his biological father, Mariano Reyes (Raoul Max Trujillo). After being passed over as the successor to the 10-Petal Ranch in favor of Rob-Will, Joaquin felt he had no other options left. He told his father, “Hola, papรก. Necesito tu ayuda,” which translates to “Hi, Dad. I need your help.”
Actor Juan Pablo Raba described the call as akin to “pressing a nuke,” knowing it would have serious consequences for everyone involved. It is assumed that Joaquin asked his father for men and weapons to take the 10-Petal Ranch by force. This call officially brings Mariano Reyes, the head of an illegal cattle-smuggling operation, into the conflict.
Mariano Reyes has largely been a shadowy figure throughout Season 1. A flashback in Episode 7 revealed him as a former 10-Petal ranch hand who was charged with watching over a young Beulah. However, he has risen to become the head of a smuggling operation, and his arrival is expected to bring a major shootout.
The Revelation of the 10-Petal Ranch’s Secret
Episode 8 also featured a major reveal about the 10-Petal Ranch’s corruption. Ranch hand Austin Lewis (Sterlin English) told Beth and Rip that the ranch is running an illegal cattle-smuggling operation in Mexico. They steal cattle and forge paperwork to smuggle them across the border. This operation is directly responsible for the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak that wiped out Beth and Rip’s herd earlier in the season.
Austin reveals the next shipment is expected in two days, putting Beth, Rip, and Mariano’s forces on a collision course. With Joaquin calling in his dangerous father and Beth and Rip now knowing the truth about the 10-Petal Ranch, the Season 1 finale is shaping up to be a major conflict.

A Major Shootout and Character Fates
The trailer for the finale shows Beulah being warned to get rid of the “strangers” or face the consequences. It also features a big shootout, with characters like Oreana (Natalie Alyn Lind) screaming and Everett (Ed Harris) picking up a gun. The finale is expected to feature a major gunfight, with some characters potentially meeting a grim fate. Actor Finn Little has warned that fans should be “very worried,” adding, “At least three people โ is it three or four people that die in the finale?”
Everything is in place for an explosive end to the season, and viewers will have to wait until July 3 to see who survives.
