For years, viewers of Apple TV+’s two biggest science fiction series have connected dots that the shows’ creators never officially planted. During an official Apple TV segment, Rebecca Ferguson, Graham Yost, and several other Silo cast members addressed the popular fan theory head-on. Their reactions ranged from genuine curiosity to playful denial, and one actor even threw in a wink that left fans wondering if they knew more than they were letting on.
Cast Members Give Their Verdict on the Apple Multiverse Theory
The Silo cast did not hold back when asked about the possibility that both shows exist in the same world. Ashley Zukerman, who plays Daniel in Silo Season 3, gave the theory a 3 out of 10. The idea goes like this: a major corporate disaster at Lumon destroys the outside world. Survivors are forced into underground bunkers, which later become the silos seen in Yost’s series.
Both theories have gained traction online because the two shows share so many similar themes. Identity, memory, and the hiding of truth are central to both series.
Why Fans Connect These Two Shows
Silo takes place inside a massive underground bunker where 10,000 people live after the outside world becomes unlivable. The residents are told that going outside means certain death. Anyone who questions this rule faces severe consequences.
Severance follows office workers who have undergone a procedure that splits their memories. Their work selves, called “innies,” know nothing about their personal lives. Their outside selves, called “outies,” know nothing about their jobs.
Both shows deal with characters who live incomplete lives because essential pieces of their past have been removed. In Silo, generations of residents have been denied knowledge of what really happened to the world. In Severance, employees have literally had their consciousness split in two.
Silo Season 3 has only made these comparisons stronger. The new season expands the mythology of the underground bunkers by introducing a “Before Times” storyline. This has given fans even more material to connect with Severance.
