What Happened in Episodes 5-6

As Siren’s Kiss approaches its second half, the tension between the lead characters has reached new heights. The story follows Cha Woo-seok (Wi Ha-jun), a top investigator at the Insurance Fraud Investigation Unit, who becomes obsessed with Han Seol-ah (Park Min-young), a prestigious art auctioneer connected to multiple mysterious deaths.

In episodes 5 and 6, Woo-seok’s investigation took dangerous turns as he got closer to Seol-ah. The line between professional duty and personal obsession continued to blur. Seol-ah’s past relationships with men who all met untimely deaths remain at the center of the mystery. The trainee Do Eun-hye‘s accusation against Seol-ah added another layer of complexity to the case, though Seol-ah provided an alibi that led to the case being closed as a suicide.

Director Kim Chul-gyu told Variety about the series: “From the opening of the first episode to the closing of the final one, tension never lets up.” He described the drama as one filled with “fresh concepts, unpredictable storytelling, and striking visual composition.”

Cast and Characters

Park Min-young (Marry My Husband) plays Han Seol-ah, the chief auctioneer at Royal Auction. She described her character as “a woman who has confined herself within ice,” surviving on “water and alcohol alone” while surrounded by tragedy. She uses a lower vocal register for this role, a departure from her previous work.

Wi Ha-jun (Squid Game) portrays Cha Woo-seok, bringing “quiet intensity” to the role according to early reviews. His character starts dating Seol-ah as part of his investigation, placing himself at the center of a dangerous game.

Kim Jung-hyun plays Baek Jun-beom, a mysterious IT CEO and art collector who circles Seol-ah with unclear motives. The supporting cast includes Han Joon-woo, Kong Sung-ha, Hong Ki-joon, Lee Elijah, and Yoon Jong-hoon.

Production Team

Director Kim Cheol-kyu leads the project. He previously directed acclaimed dramas Flower of Evil and Mother. Writer Lee Young adapts the story from the original Japanese script by Hisashi Nozawa for the 1999 Fuji TV series Ice World (Koori no Sekai). Studio Dragon and CAPE E&A produce the series for tvN.

The show has been positioned as one of Prime Video’s major Korean releases of 2026, bringing together two globally recognized stars in a story that blends romance with suspense.
