Amazon Prime Video has announced the full cast for the third season of the hit comedy competition series Last One Laughing UK. The streaming service confirmed the line-up on August 27, 2026, revealing a star-studded group of British comedians who will battle it out to keep a straight face.
The show, hosted by Jimmy Carr, puts ten comedians in a room together for six hours. The rules are simple: make everyone else laugh without laughing yourself. A yellow card is given for the first laugh, and a red card means elimination from the game. The last person standing without cracking up takes home the trophy.
Star-Studded Line-Up for Season 3
The third season features an impressive mix of comedy heavyweights and rising stars. Lee Mack, known for his quick wit on Would I Lie to You? and his long-running sitcom Not Going Out, joins the competition. Katherine Ryan, the Canadian-born comedian with a sharp tongue and popular podcast Telling Everybody Everything, is also set to appear.
Harry Hill, famous for his surreal humour and signature big collar, brings his unique brand of comedy to the show. Katherine Parkinson, who recently won a BAFTA for Here We Go and starred in The IT Crowd and Rivals, will make her debut. Michelle de Swarte, creator and star of the BBC series Spent, joins the line-up alongside Jon Richardson, the panel show regular known for his obsessive-compulsive tendencies.
Morgana Robinson, known for her impression work, and Josh Jones, a rising comedy star, complete the new contestants.
Richard Ayoade Returns After Narrow Loss
Richard Ayoade, who finished as runner-up in the first series, is making a comeback. The IT Crowd star narrowly lost to Bob Mortimer in the inaugural season and will be looking for redemption this time around. Fans have already started placing their bets on Ayoade, with one viewer commenting: “Money on Richard cause Bob is not there this time”.
Major Twist: Roisin Conaty Joins as Contestant
One of the biggest surprises in the announcement is the role change for Roisin Conaty. The comedian, who served as Jimmy Carr’s deputy in the control room for the first two seasons, is stepping down to become a contestant. This marks the first time Conaty will compete directly against her fellow comedians.

Taking her place as Carr’s deputy is Mel Giedroyc, who was a contestant in the second season. Giedroyc will now watch from the control room instead of competing on the floor. Halloween Special Coming in October 2026
Before season three arrives, fans can enjoy a Halloween special later this year. The four-episode special will premiere on October 23, 2026, with the first three episodes dropping on that date. The fourth and final episode will be released on October 30, just in time for Halloween.
The Halloween special comes with an extra rule: contestants are not allowed to scream. The line-up for the special includes Jack Dee, Phil Wang, Reece Shearsmith, Harriet Dyer, and Tom Allen, alongside returning series one stars Daisy May Cooper and Lou Sanders.
Prime Video announced the Halloween special earlier this month with a simple message: “The rules? Make everyone else laugh, don’t laugh yourself, and… Whatever happens? Don’t scream.”

The first series of Last One Laughing won Best Entertainment Programme at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards. Bob Mortimer also won Best Entertainment Performance for his victory in series one. The show picked up the Comedy Entertainment award at the 2026 RTS Programme Awards as well.
Series two, which concluded earlier this year, was won by David Mitchell. The Peep Show star opened up about his win, saying: “That was quite insane because I think we disappeared into a place where there was no laughter. I have to say, for all the bleakness at the end, I am delighted to win and I think that shows a want of character in me, but I was very pleased.”
When Will Season 3 Release?
The third season of Last One Laughing is scheduled to launch on Prime Video in 2027. While an exact date has not been confirmed, the first two seasons both aired in March, so a similar release window is expected.
The show is adapted from a Japanese series called Documental, created by comedian Hitoshi Matsumoto. Versions of Last One Laughing have now been made for 25 different countries around the world.
