Iwamoto travels to a remote village where people report seeing “black snow”. He arrives in the middle of winter and falls ill in a forest. A young stranger rescues him and brings him to a pharmaceutical company.
The pharmaceutical company produces medications that seem to heal everyone perfectly. However, these medicines do not actually cure people. They wipe out the “memory of pain” in each person.
Iwamoto becomes suspicious and investigates further. He discovers that the young boy who saved him is being kept in a room underneath the pharmaceutical company. The boy has a special condition that manifests in healthful flowers. These flowers are highly addictive and were responsible for the death of the boy’s parents. The boy hides in the basement while his grandfather runs the pharmaceutical company above.
Iwamoto realizes that the boy has supernatural abilities, not an illness. He decides that the boy must come back to his school so the military can study him. The boy reluctantly agrees to go with Iwamoto.
The episode ends with Iwamoto providing a recommendation for the boy to attend Seihล Middle School. This is where the title “Recommendations from Iwamoto-Senpai” comes from.
