Netflix officially confirmed on June 9, 2026, that A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will return for a third season. The streaming service also announced that this upcoming season will be the show’s last. Based on Holly Jackson’s bestselling book trilogy, the mystery series starring Emma Myers will end after adapting the final novel, As Good As Dead.
The third season has already wrapped production. Fans will not have to wait through long filming delays since the episodes are complete. The final season will premiere globally in 2027 on Netflix. This news comes just weeks after Season 2 debuted on the platform on May 27, 2026.
Season 3 Will Have Only Four Episodes
Unlike the previous seasons which had six episodes each, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 3 will consist of only four episodes. The shorter run completes the story of Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi without stretching the source material.
Season 1 adapted the first book, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Season 2 covered the sequel, Good Girl, Bad Blood. Now the third season will finish the trilogy by adapting As Good As Dead, which author Holly Jackson has called her favorite book in the series.
The show is produced by Moonage Pictures in a co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo. Tom Vaughan directed the final season, with Sophie Klein and Sophie MacClancy producing.
Returning Cast Confirmed for Final Season
The main cast members are all returning to close out their characters’ stories. Emma Myers, known for her role as Enid Sinclair in Wednesday, leads the cast again as Pip.
The confirmed returning cast includes:
- Emma Myers as Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi
- Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh
- Henry Ashton as Max Hastings
- Asha Banks as Cara Ward
- Jude Morgan-Collie as Connor Reynolds
- Eden H. Davies as Jamie Reynolds
- Yali Topol Margalith as Lauren Gibson
Myers also serves as an executive producer for the final season. She has been deeply involved in bringing Pip’s journey to the screen from the beginning.
Holly Jackson and Emma Myers Share Excitement About the Ending
Both the author and the lead star expressed their happiness about finishing the story properly. Jackson wrote the books that started the whole franchise, and she feels strongly about the final season.
“I am ecstatic that we are able to bring A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder to its (bloody) conclusion. As Good As Dead is my favourite of the book series and it’s by far my favourite season of the show too. You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible and… somehow still manages to be funny. Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time…if you dare.” – Holly Jackson, Writer and Executive Producer
Emma Myers also shared her gratitude toward the fans who supported the show. She called the experience incredible and promised a wild finish.
“I’m very happy that we get to bring everyone season 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder. Thank you so much to everyone who has given this show love and support throughout! This has truly been an incredible experience and Pip will be a character I will never forget. Book 3 is my favorite of all the books, so I’m very excited to show everyone what we’ve done. Get ready for a crazy time!” – Emma Myers, Actor and Executive Producer
What to Expect From the Final Season Plot
Season 3 finds Pip dealing with the lasting effects of her first two investigations. The previous season saw Pip investigating her friend’s brother Jamie Reynolds (played by Eden H. Davies) after he disappeared right before giving evidence at a trial.
In the final season, Pip will go after another killer. But this time, the stakes are much higher. According to Netflix’s official description, Pip will have her own life on the line. She needs all her skills to solve the ultimate mystery and save herself from a deadly fate.
Jackson described this version of Pip as different from anything viewers have seen before. The tone is darker and more intense compared to the earlier seasons.
