The Judge from Hell Premieres with Strong Ratings

The new SBS drama, The Judge from Hell, starring Park Shin Hye and Kim Jae Young, began its run with promising numbers. The first two episodes, which aired on September 21, scored nationwide viewership ratings of 6.8% and 9.3%, according to Nielsen Korea.

The series tells the story of Kang Bit Na, played by Park Shin Hye, an elite judge who also happens to be a demon. Her mission is to rid the world of evil people by sending them to hell. Kim Jae Young plays Han Do On, a smart and observant detective who hides deep personal pain. Their paths cross in unexpected ways, leading to major changes in their lives.

Black Out Reaches New All-Time High

On the same night, Byun Yo Han’s Black Out, airing on MBC, set a new personal record with average nationwide ratings of 8.7%. This ongoing mystery thriller has continued to capture the audience’s attention, making this its best-performing episode so far.

Beauty and Mr. Romantic Keeps Rising

Another drama on the rise is KBS2TV’s Beauty and Mr. Romantic, starring Im Soo Hyang and Ji Hyun Woo. This long-running show recorded average viewership of 19.8% in its latest episode, just ahead of its finale, making it the most-watched program of its time slot.

Other Ratings This Week

Several other shows also saw notable ratings shifts this week:

  • MBN’s Bad Memory Eraser ended its run on September 21 with a final episode rating of 0.5%, slightly higher than its previous episode.
  • Jung Hae In and Jung So Min’s Love Next Door achieved a small rise in episode 11, reaching 6.0% in nationwide ratings.
  • TV Chosun’s DNA Lover closed with 0.6% in its last episode.
  • Cinderella at 2AM remained steady at 0.3%, just before its finale.
