Episode 10 Story Details
Episode 10, “Yabasugiru Sukiru,” continues Jiro Azuma’s journey. The official synopsis reveals that Jiro enters the “Forest of Unlight” – the territory of the mononoke known as Ibuki.
During his travels through the forest, Jiro meets a mysterious white snake. He shares his thoughts and feelings about Rago, the black cat who is actually the legendary Black Star of Doom. The encounter allows Jiro and the white snake to connect on a deeper level.
However, peace does not last. A new mononoke appears before Jiro – one wielding a giant sickle and ready to attack. The threat is immediate and dangerous.
Meanwhile, the mononoke Tengu is working in the background. He gathers allies and comrades scattered across the land. This suggests larger conflicts are brewing beyond Jiro’s immediate encounter in the forest.
The episode promises action, character development, and further exploration of the supernatural world that BLACK TORCH has established throughout its first season.
What Happened Before Episode 10
Leading up to episode 10, BLACK TORCH has followed Jiro Azuma, a high school student raised as a ninja descendant. Jiro possesses the unusual ability to communicate with animals.
His life changed when he found an injured black cat named Rago in the forest. Rago turned out to be no ordinary cat – he is a mononoke, an immortal vengeful spirit known as the Black Star of Doom.
Jiro joined the Bureau of Espionage to fight against mononoke who seek to exploit Rago’s powers. The series has followed his battles, his growing bond with Rago, and his encounters with various mononoke and allies including Ichika Kishimojin and Reiji Kirihara.
Episode 9 set the stage for Jiro’s journey into the Forest of Unlight, making episode 10 a direct continuation of that storyline.
