The May 1 episode of Boston Blue delivered a double dose of drama. Viewers watched Danny Reagan reunite with his sister Erin to catch a twisted serial killer. At the same time, Detective Lena Silver found out the truth about her biological father and discovered she has a half-sister she never knew existed.

The episode, titled “L’dor Vador,” brought back Bridget Moynahan as Erin Reagan in a high-stakes crossover. It also introduced Erik King as Lena’s dad, Chris Williams, in a surprise debut.

A Dangerous Game With a Serial Killer

The episode’s main case focused on Abraham Nemes, a serial killer who tortured and murdered young girls in New York. The case against him fell apart due to mishandled evidence. He then fled to Boston, where Danny and Lena tracked him down. They trapped him at a bus depot, and federal agents took him into custody.

Erin Reagan came to Boston to take Nemes back to New York. But the killer claimed he had taken another victim, a girl named Lauren Jackson. He said if they extradited him right away, they would never find her alive.

Danny and Erin had no choice but to work with him. Nemes agreed to lead them to Lauren, but he was really playing games. He tried to turn the siblings against each other. The killer said the Reagan family was unhappy with Danny’s move to Boston. Erin went along with it to make Nemes think his plan was working.

The suspect led Danny and Erin to an abandoned storage unit. Inside, they found a recording of a crying girl. Nemes shoved Danny into a large box and tried to take control. But Erin was ready. She pulled out her gun and shot the killer in the shoulder, saving her brother.

The Reagan siblings had already found Lauren on their own. Erin remembered that Nemes liked to hide victims in old buses at depots. Police rescued the girl while the killer thought he was winning.

At the end of the episode, Danny and Erin cleared the air. Erin said she was never upset about his move to Boston. She only pretended to agree with Nemes to trick him. The two left for a Reagan family dinner in New York.

Lena Uncovers Her Father’s Identity

While the Reagan siblings dealt with the killer, Lena faced her own family earthquake. The episode began with Reverend Edwin Peters (Ernie Hudson) preparing for heart surgery. Before going into the operating room, he pushed Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben) to finally tell Lena the truth about her biological father.

Mae raised Lena alone. For years, she told her daughter that her father did not want to be a parent. That story was false. Mae got pregnant with Chris Williams after he took part in an armed home invasion. He went to prison shortly after. Mae said she kept Chris away because he was a bad person.

But Lena did not stop digging. She found out that Chris turned his life around. He is now the police chief of a small town just outside Boston. Lena drove to find him and met a detective named Asher Reed (Douglas Nyback) who worked under him.

The detective tipped off his boss. Chris Williams showed up at Mae’s door. He admitted he always knew about Lena. He had been watching her from a distance for years but Mae kept them apart. Then came the second shock. Chris has another daughter named Kristina (Alisha Wainwright). She is married to Detective Reed, making her Lena’s half-sister.

Gloria Reuben spoke to TV Insider about the big reveal.

“When secrets and lies have years to flourish underground, when they are finally revealed, then all of a sudden the landscape looks a lot different. This episode really raises those fundamental experiences of humanity, of human beings as a whole, of families.”

What Fans Need to Know About the New Characters

Erik King, known for his role on the show Dexter, made his first appearance as Chris Williams. The showrunners picked him specifically for the role. Reuben explained that they wanted someone with the right energy and physical presence to be Lena’s father.

“He’s a lovely actor, and everything was just spot on. He’s very talented, and he’s very focused, and he’s very grounded. He holds his cards close to his chest, if you will, so that was perfect as well in terms of the storyline.”

Alisha Wainwright joined the cast as Kristina, Lena’s newly discovered half-sister. The show has not yet shown a meeting between the two sisters. Lena chose to delay introducing herself at the end of the episode.
