Blue Lock fans finally got their first look at the upcoming third season. On June 9, 2026, also known as “Blue Lock Day” in Japan, the official Blue Lock accounts dropped a teaser visual and confirmed the season’s official title. The next chapter of the hit soccer anime will be called Blue Lock: Neo Egoist League.
The announcement arrived just days before the FIFA World Cup kicks off. The teaser visual features Yoichi Isagi facing off against a new character, Michael Kaiser. Kaiser is the ace striker of Bastard Mรผnchen, Germany’s strongest club. He is also a member of the prestigious New Generation World XI, a group of the world’s best young players.
Isagi and Kaiser Take Center Stage in the New Visual
The newly released teaser visual shows Isagi in his new uniform, looking more confident than ever. Across from him stands Kaiser, who has long blond hair and a smirk that screams arrogance. Kaiser is known for his “beautiful” football style and his complete belief in his own talent. He will become one of Isagi’s biggest obstacles in the upcoming season.
After Isagi scored the winning goal against Japan’s U-20 team at the end of Season 2, he became a well-known player across the country. Season 3 picks up right after that victory. The Blue Lock project now moves to a bigger stage. The surviving players will face off against top youth players from Europe’s best clubs, including Bastard Mรผnchen (Germany), Juventus (Italy), Mansfield Town (England), FC Barcha (Spain), and Paris X Gen (France).
Voice Actor Kazuki Ura Shares His Excitement
Kazuki Ura, who voices Yoichi Isagi, released a statement alongside the teaser. He explained that he has been waiting for this moment since the very first episode of the anime.
โAround the same time recording began for Episode 1 of the BLUE LOCK TV anime, the Neo Egoist League arc also began serialization in Weekly Shลnen Magazine. Every time I turned a page, I vividly remember feeling both the excitement of wanting to someday portray this version of Isagi, and the pressure of wondering whether I would truly be able to do him justice. Since that day, the Neo Egoist League has been both a goal and a dream for me. And now, that dream is finally becoming reality. I genuinely cannot contain my excitement. Iโll give it everything I have.โ
The voice actor for Michael Kaiser will be Mamoru Miyano, a very popular name in the anime world. Fans know him from roles like Light Yagami in Death Note and Rintaro Okabe in Steins;Gate.
What Is the Neo Egoist League Arc?
For viewers who have not read the manga, the Neo Egoist League is a major turning point in the story. The arc moves away from the survival games inside the Blue Lock facility. Instead, the remaining 35 players join different professional clubs in Europe. They train and play alongside world-class stars. Their performance in this league will determine who truly has the “ego” to become the world’s best striker.
The arc introduces many new characters from different countries. Kaiser is the most important of these new faces. He is the same age as Isagi but plays at a much higher level. He has a powerful finishing move known as “Kaiser Impact,” a shot that requires almost no backlift and is nearly impossible for goalkeepers to stop.
No Release Date Yet for Season 3
The teaser announcement did not include a release date for Blue Lock: Neo Egoist League. The third season was first announced back in September 2025 at the Blue Lock Egoist Festa event in Tokyo. Based on the gaps between previous seasons, fans expect the show to return in late 2026 or early 2027.
Blue Lock Season 1 aired from October 2022 to March 2023. Season 2 aired from October 2024 to December 2024. The production studio, Eight Bit, is currently working on the new episodes. Tetsuaki Watanabe returns as director, with Shunsuke Ishikawa assisting. Taku Kishimoto is handling the scripts, and Masaru Shindo is the character designer.
Manga Sales and Live-Action Movie Updates
The Blue Lock manga, written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, has now sold over 60 million copies worldwide as of June 2026. It won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the Shonen category.
While waiting for Season 3, fans also have the live-action movie to look forward to. The Blue Lock live-action film will release in Japan on August 7, 2026. The movie stars Fumiya Takahashi as Yoichi Isagi. The theme song, “Monstruo,” will be performed by Ado, the same singer behind “Usseewa” and “New Genesis” (from One Piece Film: Red). The first trailer for the live-action film dropped in April 2026.
