The Disney+ thriller The Husband continues to raise the stakes in its third episode. The show, which premiered on July 4, 2026, follows neurosurgeon Kang Tae-ju (Namkoong Min) as he becomes the prime suspect in his wife’s kidnapping. Episode 3, which aired on July 11 or 12, moves the story forward with high tension and shocking reveals. The episode dives into the past to show what broke the couple apart while pushing Tae-ju into a desperate race against time.
A Marriage Destroyed by Loss
The episode opens with a flashback to Tae-ju and Se-yun’s wedding day. The couple looked happy and deeply in love. This happy memory quickly fades to one of the darkest days of their lives. Their daughter, Hayun, gets into a tragic accident and is rushed to the emergency room. Se-yun calls her husband repeatedly, but he does not answer.
Tae-ju was not ignoring his family. He was in the middle of performing another life-saving surgery. He had no idea his own daughter was fighting for her life in the same hospital. Despite the doctors’ efforts, the child dies before Tae-ju can reach her. From Se-yun’s point of view, her husband’s absence is unforgivable. She believes that if he had been there, he could have saved their daughter. This tragedy becomes the main reason for their broken marriage.
Tae-ju Faces Police Interrogation
The story returns to the present day. Tae-ju is at the police station. The police believe he kidnapped his wife, Ko Se-yun (Lee Seol). They have evidence against him, including a bloodied sweater found in his car. Tae-ju insists he is innocent. He tells the police that the real kidnapper knocked him out and planted the evidence.
His family rushes to the station to support him. However, Se-yun’s parents are also there. They believe Tae-ju is guilty. The police do not listen to his pleas. They think they have their man.
The Mysterious Warning
During the interrogation, Tae-ju gets a nosebleed and is taken to the washroom. The lights begin to flicker, and a strange man appears. The man claims to know that Tae-ju is innocent. He gives Tae-ju a warning and a deadline. He must reach a location in Shinyu-dong by 11 PM. If he fails, he will never see his wife alive again.
Tae-ju does not know who this man is, but he has no choice but to trust him. The mysterious man causes a power outage at the station. Tae-ju uses the chaos to escape the questioning room. Police officers chase him, but he manages to get away through a window.
Se-yun’s Captivity and a Disturbing Villain
While Tae-ju fights for his freedom, Se-yun wakes up in a hidden room. She finds herself chained up. The kidnapper is revealed to be Noh Man-hee (Kim Dae-myung). He appears to be a kind and normal computer coding teacher to his neighbors. Behind closed doors, he is a predator who kidnaps and kills women.
The kidnapper visits Se-yun and gives her pain relief cream for her injuries. He calmly tells her that she does not have much time left. His calm and polite manner makes him even more terrifying. Se-yun begins to talk with another woman being held captive in the next room. The other woman tells her that her own husband gave up on rescuing her. Hearing this makes Se-yun more determined to survive.
Tae-ju’s Daring Escape
After escaping the police station, Tae-ju goes to the hospital. He grabs his belongings and steals medication, needles, and surgical knives from the surgery room. On his way out, he runs into a colleague. He takes the colleague’s car keys. A security guard tries to stop him in the parking lot. Tae-ju uses pepper spray on the guard and drives away. He is now a fugitive, with the police close behind him. The episode ends with Se-yun finding a way to fight back. She uses the liquid from the painkiller to make her ankle slippery and breaks free from her chains.
