tvN is giving viewers an early look at its upcoming period spy romance 100 Days of Deception with a special broadcast titled 100 Days of Deception: Secret Documents. The special features lead stars Kim You Jung, Park Jinyoung, Kim Hyun Joo, Lee Moo Saeng, and Jin Sun Kyu running around the actual filming set to complete a mission tied to the drama’s story. The special airs on October 3 at 10:30 p.m. KST, exactly one week before the main drama premieres.

The Story Behind 100 Days Of Deception
100 Days of Deception is set over 100 days during the Japanese occupation of Korea. The story follows Lee Ga Kyeong (Kim You Jung), the top pickpocket in Gyeongseong (present-day Seoul), who becomes an undercover spy for the independence movement. She infiltrates the Japanese Government-General of Korea as an interpreter and becomes tangled with Kim Tae Woong (Park Jinyoung), an elite interpreter who also goes by the Japanese name Sato Hideo. Tae Woong is the adopted son of the Inspector-General of Korea, the second-highest-ranking official in the administration.
The production team has highlighted the unusual premise of using interpretation as a central theme. The drama looks at how a person who interprets for others also sees their truths, lies, and secrets all at once. The setup of an independence fighter planting a spy directly inside enemy territory adds a different kind of tension to the story.
Meet The Main Cast And Their Roles
Kim You Jung plays Lee Ga Kyeong, a bold young woman who dreams of going to America but ends up becoming a spy for the independence group Gugukdan. Her character moves from a daring pickpocket to someone facing real danger and change.
Park Jinyoung takes on the role of Kim Tae Woong, a fluent speaker of three languages who hides deep personal sadness behind his elite interpreter image. Tae Woong appears loyal to the administration, but the story hints that he carries secrets of his own.
Kim Hyun Joo plays Yoo So Ran, a sniper for Gugukdan who returns to her homeland after more than a decade away. She seeks revenge on Sato Shinichi and offers Ga Kyeong a dangerous deal.
Lee Moo Saeng portrays Yoo Philip, a Korean-American correspondent for a U.S. news agency who is also part of Gugukdan. He uses his journalist identity to shake up the Inspector-General while hiding his feelings for So Ran.
Jin Sun Kyu plays Sato Shinichi, the second-in-command at the Japanese Government-General and the top target of Gugukdan. He transforms into a cold, ambitious figure who will do anything for success and power.
The Team Behind The Drama
Director Yoo In Shik, known for Extraordinary Attorney Woo and the Dr. Romantic series, leads the project. Writer Ryu Bo Ri, who wrote Do You Like Brahms?, penned the script. Studio Dragon and Nangman Crew produce the series together.
The drama is a tvN 20th anniversary special project and consists of 16 episodes. It is a weekend drama that airs on Saturdays and Sundays.
How The Cast Prepared
The production team has spoken about the effort the actors put into their roles. Kim You Jung handled dialogue in three languages for her character. Jin Sun Kyu stayed in Japan for a period to improve his Japanese for his role as a Japanese official. The chief producer described the cast’s commitment during a press event.
