Family’s Reaction to Allegations
Kim Se Ui first addressed Gold Medalist’s legal action against Kim Sae Ron’s family and Garo Sero Institute. He questioned why the company would file a criminal suit for sexual harassment if the photo at the center of the controversy was not authentic. He implied that the legal action might be an indirect admission of the photo’s validity.
He then spoke about Kim Sae Ron’s mother’s initial plan to hold a press conference, which she was ultimately unable to do due to her emotional state.
“Kim Sae Ron’s mother was crying uncontrollably yesterday. One staff member gave her a hug and said she was so thin, like she was just skin and bones. Her mother handed us a handwritten letter titled ‘To Sae Ron, In Heaven,’ while crying. Actually, we planned to hold a press conference today, but her mother said she physically could not move. We saw how difficult it was for her to even stand up. It’s heartbreaking.”
Denial of Marriage and Abortion Knowledge
Kim Se Ui addressed the family’s reaction to the claims from Lee Jin Ho’s video, specifically regarding Kim Sae Ron’s alleged marriage and abortion.
“Her family members told us they never heard of Sae Ron getting married. And the abortion? They said they couldn’t understand why Sae Ron would have said such a thing to her manager. Also, there was a claim that no one paid for the hospital bills so her manager had to pay the ₩20.0 million KRW (about $13,700 USD). Her family was in tears, demanding proof of the claim. They couldn’t accept the claims.”
