Reports recently claimed that actress Kim Sae Ron was in a relationship with a popular idol identified as “A” in 2018. The reports suggested a brief breakup in 2019, followed by a reunion in 2022 when Kim Sae Ron was dealing with the aftermath of her drunk driving incident. It was also reported that “A” provided her with a significant sum of money during her financial difficulties.
Family Denies Relationship with Idol
On May 22, a representative for Kim Sae Ron‘s family spoke with Hankyung via phone. The family representative stated that Kim Sae Ron was not romantically involved with the idol. They added that she had very strong feelings for Kim Soo Hyun, which would have prevented her from pursuing anyone else.
The representative said, “Kim Sae Ron was by no means a promiscuous person. She was always sincere when meeting people and originally had a laid-back personality with many ‘male friends’…During her relationship with Kim Soo Hyun, her feelings for him were deep. So as far as I know, she didn’t even have the leisure to meet anyone else.”
Family Distressed by Speculation
The family representative continued by expressing their distress over the “indiscriminate information and distorted facts” being spread by YouTubers. They explained that “Regardless of the truth of the content, the excessive intrusion into her private life is causing the family immense pain.”
Previous Claims of Relationship with Kim Soo Hyun
Previously, Kim Sae Ron‘s side, through the Garo Sero Research Institute’s YouTube channel, claimed that she dated Kim Soo Hyun from late 2015 until July 2021. At the time, Kim Sae Ron was in middle school. Text messages, believed to be from Kim Sae Ron to an acquaintance, were offered as proof. However, the exact truth of these text messages has not been fully confirmed.

Since the initial information became public, both Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun have faced many accusations, with their private lives being examined publicly. Kim Sae Ron‘s family and Kim Soo Hyun are currently involved in several lawsuits regarding these matters.
