Fans of the hit horror series From have reason to celebrate as production on the highly anticipated fourth season has officially been completed. The confirmation, which came directly from the show’s cast, has ignited widespread speculation that the new season will arrive in early 2026, bringing an end to the long wait for the next chapter of the terrifying mystery.

Show Confirms Major Production Milestone

The series has reached a significant milestone with the announcement that From Season 4 has wrapped filming. This news came directly from actress Elizabeth Saunders, who plays Donna in the series, when she shared a behind-the-scenes picture on her Instagram with the text “Donna wrapping (S4).” This was quickly followed by a similar update from co-star Ricky He (Kenny Liu), who posted a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos declaring the production was in its “final lap.”

Filming for the new season began in June 2025 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, maintaining the same location used for the previous three installments. The production schedule was set to continue through November 17, 2025, aligning with the early 2026 release window that has been hinted at by producers.

When Can Viewers Expect Season 4?

While an exact premiere date has not been officially announced by MGM+, a clear expected window has emerged. The show’s producers have provided a strong indication of the timeline. In an interview, executive producer Jeff Pinkner initially expressed hope for a 2025 release, but creator John Griffin provided a more concrete expectation.

John Griffin clarified, “Let me interject before we move on to the next questionโ€ฆ we’re probably not going to be done shooting until the holidays. So in all likelihood, it would be early 2026, no?”

This early 2026 target was subsequently confirmed by Pinkner. Lead actress Catalina Sandino Moreno (Tabitha Matthews) has also supported this timeline, stating, “I think next yearโ€ฆ we finish [in] November. So I don’t have high hopes at the end of the year, but next year, the beginning of next year, it’s going to come.”

Looking at the gaps between previous seasonsโ€”14 months between Seasons 1 and 2 and 17 months between Seasons 2 and 3โ€”a release in the first half of 2026 appears most probable.

New Faces and Returning Characters

The cast for Season 4 will see the addition of Julia Doyle, who will play a new character named Sophia, described in casting details as “a sheltered and vulnerable pastor’s daughter.” Doyle is known for her role in the teen comedy series Astrid and Lilly Save the World.

Viewers can expect the return of key series regulars, including:

  • Harold Perrineau as Boyd Stevens
  • Catalina Sandino Moreno as Tabitha Matthews
  • David Alpay as Jade Herrera
  • Elizabeth Saunders as Donna Raines
  • Hannah Cheramy as Julie Matthews
  • Ricky He as Kenny Liu

The fate of Eion Bailey’s character, Jim Matthews, remains uncertain after his apparent death in the Season 3 finale. However, with the show’s introduction of time travel and supernatural elements, his return in some form remains a possibility.

What to Expect After the Season 3 Cliffhanger

The Season 3 finale, “Revelations,” provided major answers while setting up new threats. The true nature of the town’s creatures was uncovered, revealing they were once humans who sacrificed their children for immortality. The finale also introduced a formidable new villain, The Man in the Yellow Suit, who was responsible for Jim’s death.

A major storyline developing is the time-travel plot involving Julie Matthews. The finale strongly suggested that Julie is moving through different timelines in an attempt to change past events and save her father. This narrative is expected to be a central focus as she works to prevent horrific events from unfolding.

Additionally, the connection between Tabitha and Jade is poised to be explored further after Season 3 revealed the two were married in a previous life. The aftermath of Fatima’s pregnancy, which resulted in the birth of a new incarnation of the Smiley Creature, will also likely be a key plot point as the residents grapple with this horrifying development.
