The world of Victorian London’s most determined private detective is about to get a refresh. Miss Scarlet Season 6 introduces new characters at Scotland Yard while welcoming back a fan-favorite figure from Eliza’s past. The new season continues the story of Eliza Scarlet, played by Kate Phillips, as she navigates the male-dominated world of crime-solving in the 1880s. After the major change of losing “The Duke” in Season 4, this season focuses on evolving partnerships and fresh dynamics within the detective agency and the police force.
The season is set to premiere for streaming on December 7, 2025, for PBS Passport members, followed by its broadcast debut on PBS on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 8pm ET. With six new hour-long mysteries, the series promises a mix of standalone cases and ongoing personal stories for its characters.
The Core Returning Cast of Miss Scarlet Season 6
The heart of the show remains its steadfast lead and her closest allies. Kate Phillips returns as the ingenious and resilient Eliza Scarlet. Phillips, known for her roles in Peaky Blinders and The Crown, continues to portray the detective who uses her wit and her father’s training to solve crimes where women are not expected to.
Eliza’s professional world is deeply intertwined with Scotland Yard, now led by DI Alexander Blake, played by Tom Durant-Pritchard. Their relationship, which started with tension in Season 5, is poised to develop further as they learn to work together more effectively.
At home, the Scarlet household adjusts to a new marital status. Cathy Belton reprises her role as Ivy, Eliza’s housekeeper and mother figure, who is now newly married to Mr. Potts (Simon Ludders), the meticulous coroner. Paul Bazely also returns as Clarence, Eliza’s loyal and often anxious bookkeeper, whose role becomes more prominent this season.
A significant and celebrated return is that of Ansu Kabia as Moses Valentine. The street-smart and mysterious Moses, who was a key ally in the show’s early seasons, comes back to London, bringing his unique skills and connections to help Eliza with her cases.
New Characters Joining the Scotland Yard Roster
Season 6 expands the world of the police with two new faces, signaling changes and fresh challenges for the regulars.
Sam Buchanan joins the cast as Detective George Willows. Described as a young detective who has risen through the police ranks, his arrival at Scotland Yard is set to create a new dynamic for DI Blake and the team.
Joining the clerical office is Grace Hogg-Robinson as Isabel Summers. An ambitious newcomer, Isabel will be working alongside Ivy, potentially introducing a new layer of interaction and perhaps competition within the police administration.
Cast Changes and Character Exits for the New Season
With new arrivals come some departures. Two characters from Season 5 will not be returning for the new episodes.
Felix Scott will not reprise his role as the rival detective Patrick Nash. His character’s exit was written into the Season 5 storyline, where he departed London for Australia. While he may be mentioned, he is not part of the current season’s cast.
Also exiting is Evan McCabe as Detective Oliver Fitzroy. The character does not receive a specific on-screen send-off, so his absence will likely be addressed in the new season. Reports indicate McCabe left the series due to a commitment to a stage production with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

โWhat’s so brilliant about Eliza is that she gives this appearance of being a very refined Victorian lady and, to some extent, she is that,โ actress Kate Phillips has said. โBut she’s as scrappy and feisty as any woman todayโฆ She’s so resilient and strong spirited and she’s making her way in a world where the odds are stacked against her.โ
