Kanye West is under fire after a former employee filed a lawsuit against him, detailing disturbing allegations of discrimination, threats and harassment during his employment at Yeezy, West’s fashion brand, and Donda Academy, West’s now-closed private school.
Explosive Allegations: Antisemitism, Threats to Students and Inappropriate Behavior
The lawsuit, obtained by Page Six, details shocking claims made by Trevor Phillips, a former Yeezy employee. Phillips alleges that West subjected him to “severe discrimination, harassment, and retaliation” while working at the company. His duties reportedly expanded to include work at Donda Academy.
The most concerning allegations involve West’s behavior towards Donda Academy students. Phillips claims West would openly spout antisemitic conspiracy theories in front of the children. Even more disturbing, Phillips alleges West threatened two students, saying he “wanted to shave their heads” and intended to implement a “jail” within the school.
Work Meeting Turns Hostile: Antisemitic Tirade and Sexual Harassment
The lawsuit paints a disturbing picture of West’s workplace behavior as well. Phillips alleges that during a business dinner at Nobu Malibu in December 2022, West launched into an antisemitic rant, calling Jewish people “miserly” and praising Adolf Hitler as an “innovator.” He also allegedly denied the Holocaust.
Beyond the antisemitic remarks, Phillips makes a further allegation of inappropriate sexual behavior. He claims that West became visibly aroused during their meeting.
Discrimination Against Black Employees and Anti-LGBTQ Comments
Phillips doesn’t stop there. The lawsuit details alleged racial discrimination against Black employees. Phillips, a Black man himself, claims West treated Black employees worse than white employees. One particularly disturbing instance involved a Black security guard at Donda Academy. Phillips alleges West “commanded” the guard to shave off his dreadlocks or face termination. The guard reportedly resigned rather than comply.
The lawsuit also includes accusations of anti-LGBTQ comments. Phillips claims that after their sushi arrived at the Nobu dinner, West made threatening remarks about the LGBTQ community, allegedly stating, “Yeah I’m going for the gays! FIRST the Jews, THEN the gays!” He further alleges that West believes Bill Gates “controls” homosexuals.
Lawsuit Seeks Damages and Accountability
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and aims to hold West accountable for his alleged actions. Whether these claims have merit will be determined by the courts. However, these accusations paint a troubling portrait of West’s conduct and raise serious questions about the environment he fostered at both Yeezy and Donda Academy.
