Gladiators Trailer Premieres in Theatres Worldwide

The Gladiators trailer did not follow the usual digital-first pattern. It debuted directly in theatres, a move that turned screenings into cheering arenas. Special premiere events were organized globally on September 6, 2026, allowing fans to experience the trailer on the big screen. Audiences hooted, clapped, and whistled as Ajith Kumar appeared on screen, with the response driven partly by the long wait since his previous theatrical release, Good Bad Ugly, which hit theatres in April 2026.

The theatrical trailer launch was followed by the trailer’s digital release on September 19, 2026, bringing the footage to a wider global audience.

A Look Inside Ajith Kumar’s Racing Journey

Gladiators documents Ajith Kumar‘s professional motorsport career, capturing his challenges, setbacks, and achievements across international racing circuits. The documentary features footage from circuits in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Malaysia, and Europe, and follows his association with endurance racing events including the 24H Series and the Asian Le Mans Series.

Ajith Kumar returned to competitive car racing after a gap of nearly 15 years and owns his own team, Ajith Kumar Racing. His teammates include Mathieu Detry, Fabian Duffieux, and Cameron McLeod. The team finished third in the 991 category at the 24H Dubai event earlier in 2026, followed by another third-place finish at the 12H Mugello race in Italy. The team later secured a second-place finish at the Spa Francorchamps Circuit in Belgium, an event that drew a large crowd of fans who traveled to cheer him on.

In the trailer, Ajith Kumar speaks about his love for the sport with simple honesty.

“It is a beautiful sport. I love it.”

The documentary also highlights the demanding nature of endurance racing, focusing on the physical and mental commitment required to compete professionally. The trailer makes clear that there is far more to professional racing than simply putting your foot down.

Family Takes Center Stage in Gladiators Trailer

One of the most talked-about aspects of the Gladiators trailer is the rare on-screen appearance of Ajith Kumar‘s wife, former actor Shalini. Her presence marks a screen return nearly two decades after she stepped away from acting. Shalini provides a glimpse into the more personal side of Ajith Kumar, discussing his determination to pursue his dreams and his approach toward success and failure.

“He returned to racing not to win major trophies but for those seconds where he would feel nothing is impossible,” Shalini says in the trailer.

Shalini also opens up about the apprehension the family experiences while watching Ajith Kumar race, admitting that she feels nervous when he is on the track. However, according to her, his passion for motorsport is driven less by trophies and recognition and more by the thrill of challenging himself and pushing boundaries.

The couple’s children, Anoushka and Aadvik, also feature in the trailer. Anoushka speaks about the values she has learned from her father, while Aadvik shares his experience of sitting inside Ajith Kumar‘s racing car and being surprised by how his father handled the powerful machine.

Narain Karthikeyan and Racing Team Share Insights

The documentary includes commentary from prominent figures in the motorsport world, including Narain Karthikeyan, India’s first Formula One driver, who offers his perspective on the world Ajith Kumar has chosen to pursue alongside his film career. Members of Ajith Kumar‘s racing team also open up about his journey, providing behind-the-scenes insight into strategy meetings, team discussions, practice sessions, and overall preparation.

Director A.L. Vijay, who has previously directed films like Deivathirumagal and Saivam, spent time with Ajith Kumar at racing events to capture the documentary. The film aims to inspire young people to pursue their dreams and promote motorsport in India, a discipline that many still consider a niche sport.

GV Prakash Kumar Announces Born to RACE Soundtrack

Composer G.V. Prakash Kumar has announced that the documentary’s original soundtrack, titled Born to RACE, will be released soon. He thanked the audience for the amazing response to the background score in Gladiators, calling the documentary a project made for Ajith Kumar‘s fans. G.V. Prakash Kumar also composed the music for Ajith Kumar‘s last feature film, Good Bad Ugly (2025).
