Crunchyroll is gearing up for one of its biggest seasons yet. The Fall 2026 anime lineup brings back some of the most beloved franchises after years away, while also introducing a fresh wave of adaptations that have fans talking. From the long-awaited return of Black Clover to the debut of high-profile new series like Firefly Wedding and Psyren, this season has something for every type of anime viewer.
With over 30 titles confirmed for the platform worldwide, the schedule runs from late September through October, with weekly simulcasts rolling out across North America, Europe, Latin America, Oceania, the Middle East, and the Indian subcontinent. A paid Crunchyroll plan is required to watch any of these titles, as the platform retired its free ad-supported tier on January 1, 2026.
Black Clover Season 2 Ends a Five-Year Wait
The biggest headline of the season is Black Clover Season 2, which premieres on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Asta and the Magic Knights return after nearly six years away from television to continue the Spade Kingdom Raid arc, where they face the Dark Triad and a growing threat from the underworld.
Studio Pierrot returns to animate the series, with Ayataka Tanemura directing. Tanemura previously directed the Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King movie, and expectations are high following Pierrot’s work on Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War. The manga concluded on May 1, 2026, in Jump Giga, which means Season 2 can adapt the story’s endgame without worrying about catching up to the source material.
New episodes stream weekly on Crunchyroll in Japanese audio with English subtitles. An English dub has been confirmed, with a release date to be announced later. Dubs will also be available in Thai and Taiwanese Mandarin for Southeast Asian viewers.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 Brings More Court Mysteries
The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 begins streaming on Friday, October 2, 2026. The season will run as a split cour, with the first batch of episodes airing through the fall and the second cour scheduled for April 2027.
Maomao returns to the imperial court after the rebellion, but peace rarely lasts in Li. A strange breakfast pulls her into a new mystery, and the season introduces a mysterious character against a backdrop of famine and disease. Studio OLM continues animation duties, and the series maintains the crisp visual style that earned it a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score.
English and Arabic dubs will be available at launch, along with Arabic subtitles. The series streams exclusively on Crunchyroll for viewers outside Japan.
New Series Making Their Debut
Firefly Wedding
Firefly Wedding premieres on Friday, October 9, 2026, on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block before streaming on Crunchyroll. The romantic drama follows a noblewoman who proposes marriage to an assassin. Studio david production handles animation, with Iri performing the opening theme “Period” and TOOBOE on the ending theme.
The series will be available with English and Arabic dubs, plus Arabic subtitles. A new key visual released in early September depicts the “fake wedding of the assassin and the young lady” ahead of the premiere.
Overgeared
Overgeared arrives on Sunday, September 27, 2026, as an early premiere before its Japanese TV broadcast on October 2. The story follows Grid, a debt-ridden gamer who becomes heir to a legendary blacksmith in a VR game where players earn real-world fame and fortune. His stats reset to zero, but he begins crafting powerful gear that sets him on a new path.
Studio J.C.STAFF produces the series, which is a Crunchyroll exclusive outside Japan. The dub lineup is the most extensive of the season, covering English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French, Castilian Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Polish, Thai, and Tagalog.
Psyren
Psyren makes its long-awaited anime debut on October 5, 2026, in Japan, with Crunchyroll streaming worldwide outside Japan. The series is based on Toshiaki Iwashiro’s manga, which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2007 to 2010 but never received a TV anime adaptation. Studio Satelight produces the series, which will fully adapt the manga storyline through to its conclusion.
The story follows Ageha Yoshina, a high schooler who discovers a mysterious phone card that transports him to a dangerous alternate world called Psyren. The series will be available with English and Arabic dubs, plus Arabic subtitles.
The Vermilion Mask
The Vermilion Mask premieres on October 10, 2026, and will run as a split two-cour series. The masked battle fantasy follows Peru d’Arrest, a young boy who takes on an epic journey to right his wrongs after a deadly possession. Studio 100studio animates the adaptation of Nabana Naba’s manga.
Crunchyroll streams the series as it airs, with Arabic subtitles available. The second promotional video revealed six new cast members and previewed the theme songs ahead of the October premiere.
Returning Favorites and Continuing Series
A Wild Last Boss Appeared! Season 2 opens the season on September 26, 2026, from studio WAO World. The isekai series follows an MMO gamer who awakens as the Black-Winged Tyrant Lufas Maphaahl, a conqueror whose defeat 200 years ago unleashed monsters on the world. Dubs include German, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World Season 3 premieres on September 27, 2026, from GeyeG Pictures. The series follows Ars Louvent, a noble scion whose Appraisal Skill proves mightier than any sword. English and German dubs are confirmed.
The Prince of Tennis II U-17 WORLD CUP: Final Member Selection Match arrives on September 30, 2026. Coach Mifune calls for a final selection match to determine who will represent Japan against Spain in the World Cup final. An English dub is confirmed.
FX Fighter Kurumi-chan premieres on October 1, 2026, from studio Passione. University student Kurumi Fukuga enters the world of foreign exchange trading to recover 20 million yen her late mother lost. An English dub is included.
Aoashi Season 2 continues the soccer story on October 4, 2026, from TMS Entertainment, with a Thai dub confirmed.
Magic Knight Rayearth returns on October 7, 2026, from E&H Production, with a Thai dub.
The Detective Is Already Dead Season 2 arrives on October 7, 2026, after a five-year gap. Studio ENGI returns to adapt the SPES arc from the original light novels by Nigoju. Crunchyroll handles the global release, with subtitles first and an English dub to follow.
A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special Season 2 airs from October 7 to 10. The story follows Desir, who is sent back in time after a catastrophic battle and must train his friends to prepare for the apocalypse.
