Frankie Cooper made his first big move against the Harrigans in MobLand Season 2 Episode 2, titled “Song 2,” and the attack left the family shaken to its core. The episode, which dropped on Paramount+ on Friday, September 25, 2026, ended with a cliffhanger that has everyone asking one question: is Bella Harrigan dead?
The new episode picks up right where the season premiere left off. Colin Tattersall (played by Toby Jones) has been given the green light by Kat McAllister (Janet McTeer) to unleash Frankie Cooper (Johnny Flynn) on the Harrigan crime family. What follows is a coordinated assault that hits Harry Da Souza where it hurts the most — his loved ones.
Colin Tattersall’s Chilling Plan to Break Harry
The episode opens with Colin Tattersall visiting a library, of all places, to check out a book about the assassination of King Henry IV of France. The book details how the king was killed by a Catholic zealot named François Ravaillac, who was later executed by being tied to horses and torn apart.
Tattersall uses this story as a blueprint. He tells Frankie that Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) is the real target, and the way to break him is to pull him in four different directions until he falls apart. The four points of attack are Conrad Harrigan, Kevin Harrigan, Harry’s actual family (Jan and Gina), and — in a twist — Bella Harrigan, Kevin’s wife and Harry’s closest friend.
“The chief cog in the Harrigan machine is Harry Da Souza,” Tattersall explains. “He can be pulled in four directions like a drawn-and-quartered man until a surgeon like Tattersall steps in to slice the broken body into pieces.”
Conrad Harrigan’s Health Takes a Dark Turn
While Frankie plots his attack, Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan) receives troubling news from a neurosurgeon. The doctor tells him that his brain is showing signs of focal atrophy, which affects his instinct, strategy, and self-control.
Conrad, being Conrad, does not take this well. He tells the doctor to destroy the evidence and insists he is “right as fucking rain”. But the diagnosis explains his erratic behavior, including the violent massacre at the racetrack in the season premiere.
Meanwhile, Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren) is making moves of her own. She starts planning something involving poison, and the target appears to be her granddaughter, Seraphina Harrigan (Mandeep Dhillon), who has been secretly working with Kat McAllister to take down her own family.
Jan Da Souza Meets a Mysterious Stranger
Jan Da Souza (Joanne Froggatt) is still dealing with the fallout from asking Harry for a divorce. In this episode, she gets into a minor car accident with a charming American named Donnie. He is incredibly apologetic and even gives her £7,000 for the trouble, which Jan takes as flirting.
What Jan does not realize is that Donnie is actually a spy working for Kat McAllister. He is also Seraphina’s contact, the person she reports to about Harrigan family matters. Jan is now unwittingly caught in the middle of a war she does not even know exists.
Frankie Cooper Attacks the Harrigans
The final act of the episode is where everything explodes. Frankie and his men launch a coordinated attack on multiple Harrigan targets.
Gina Da Souza (Teddie Allen) and Eddie Harrigan (Anson Boon) are attacked while returning to their flat. Harry saves Gina’s life, but the attack sends a clear message.
The most brutal assault happens at Bella Harrigan’s home. Bella is at home speaking with Kevin when Frankie arrives. Her bodyguards are quickly taken out, leaving Bella alone with Frankie. He pulls a gun on her and says only one word — the episode cuts to black before we hear what happens next.
The cliffhanger has fans debating whether Bella survives. As of now, her fate remains unknown.
Who Is Frankie Cooper?
Frankie Cooper is the new villain of MobLand Season 2, played by Johnny Flynn. He is described as an “unlikely gangster” and a “hedonist” by the actor himself. Frankie is meticulous about his cuticles but could not care less about how insane his hair looks.
Kat McAllister refers to him as her “knight in shining armor,” a weapon she can use to take down the Harrigans without getting her own hands dirty. He is a drug baron, a nail salon owner, and an agent of chaos all rolled into one.
