The episode also marks the end of an eventful year. The Misfit Class advances to their second year at Babyls. The finale follows up on several threads from Episode 23, including Sabro’s complicated relationship with his father, Sabzan, and the arrival of Sylvia, Sabro’s sister, who has been accepted into Babyls for the next school year. Recap of Iruma-kun Season 4 Episode 23
Episode 23, “The Road to the Demon King,” aired on September 19, 2026. Iruma visited the Demon King Battlers – a group of Demon King enthusiasts and historians – to learn more about the role after being selected as a candidate for the next Demon King.
Sabro was right at home with this group, having been a longtime fan of the legendary Demon King Derkila. Iruma and Sabro share a relationship built on mutual respect, even though Sabro sees Iruma as a rival for the throne.
The episode then moved to the Sabnock household, where Sylvia – Sabro’s sister – made her return. She had been accepted into Babyls, which made fans happy given how little she had appeared in previous seasons.
Baal then entered the picture. It was revealed that he is Sabro’s uncle and Sabzan’s younger brother. Baal tried to recruit Sabro into a fast track to becoming Demon King, using Iruma’s own candidacy as leverage. Sabro refused, saying it would make the title something gained through family connections rather than merit.
The episode ended with Sabzan’s cold attitude toward Baal, insisting that Sabro “can’t” become Demon King. This left the brothers’ backstory as an open question heading into the finale. Kirio also made a brief appearance, tied to Baal’s connection with the Six Fingers group.
